I prefer it when he plays without the "E"The OtherThommo wrote: ↑Sun 21 Mar 2021 8:56pmAnd, therein lies the 'key'.
To half time the skipper was exceptional. Then GWS devoted shirtloads of resource to reducing his influence. Often double teamed, generally tagged and scragged.
So, wot did the skipper do (and, no doubt not just him)?
H. Clarke, your turn, get to it, show 'em some of wot you can do.
And, by golly, by damn, he did!
This kid is something really special. Tough, strong, superb balance, skilled - but, he has that 'factor'- he operates in a 'different time zone'.
It really is gonna be a joy to watch this kid play. A 'touch' of the Banger's, a touch of the 'Pendle's', a touch of the Sam Mitchell's, touches of various legends with 'time'.
BUT!! This kid is genuinely powerful, AND 2 sided.
He and the skipper will run this midfield, and will form the basis of a midfield that becomes increasingly hard to best.
I am really looking forward to watching H. Clarke's career develop - there's just someting about sporting genius.

3 Clark
2 Ross (exciting second half)
1 Gresham
These 5 stood up when needed and dragged the team with them. Our skills are still questionable but there is no denying our heart. The skills will come with more success. Today was another ground breaking win, in a game we should have lost.

I can't believe that I am giving Webster a vote.
Beside the fact that his first 4 possessions were turnovers he played with intensity all day and beat Greene (though he may have been moved off him at some point).

Although to be fair, it was a very even performance from the whole team i.e. no passengers.

Seemed like best two were Membrey & Billings according to saintsational.
Both coaches ignored Billings effort is their votes.

Great leadership shown from the captain. Never took a backward step and I loved his tackle on Hopper. All the leaders are good role models for our younger players
Sincs and Battle and Coff all had good patches and apologies to Hill and JB who worked hard all day.

Yep, would have thought 30 touches at 73% and a goal in the wet would get a bit more love!
