Not good enough

The miss from a metre out today was embarrassing
His pressure and attack are very good, but he has to do better with conversion.

Kent and Long get their opportunities but rarely convert
Agree
Logic is lost on some
They’d keep Kent and punt Long?????
Even “elite kickerJB” missed a soda from dead in front but nothing gets said
Long needs to be kept he’s an asset and his confidence in goal kicking will come

I agree it is a confidence issue.

At the minute when has the ball he looks like a deer in headlights.

When he doesn't have the ball he is the headlights.

Has looked like he is going to be a good player for a few years, but he just can't get enough of the ball -forward or back. I reckon we would listen if another club came calling

Yep, Kent or Lonnie would not even have created a shot from the one Long missed from a metre out.
Long does does some super intelligent stuff that a lot of players can’t do, if his confidence gets up he will be fine.

I am really liking what Long brings to the forward line. He just needs to snag a couple.

I would have given him a vote tonight if he kicked straight.
Most likely the AFL would have given us 4

LOL - you don't get criticized for not making shots you did not create. But 2 - 9 is damning.

As Riewoldt said yesterday measuring small forwards on goals alone misses the point when it’s the pressure they also bring that needs to be factored
Long IS creating opportunities if I were Saints you’d work with him on his goal kicking confidence but his forward pressure is superb so keep bringing it and he has a clear role
Lonie could only dream of being that type of forward enforcer

I was not saying that Long should be replaced - I was saying that he is above the others in his ability to create opportunities and therefore he gets criticized for not kicking the goal.

Kind of like being disappointed that you missed a Bronze medal by fractions of a centimetre - as opposed to washing out in the heat

Does anyone know if the team has stayed in Perth or flown home?
