Changes for Geelong game
Obviously King is out which will hurt.
Clark concussion probably the only one likely to be fit and concussions are always a gamble.
Hawkins size a major problem , more so than Buddy was or Cameron as neither great contested marks.
Ryder - calf/achilles not worth the risk with 2 games left at his age.
Hannabery - please , why disrupt his pre season with another injury. He gets injured enough just training.
Byrnes could be in need of a rest and if so Bytel for him
B: Connolly, Wilkie, Coffield
HB: Webster, Highmore, Sinclair
C: Jones, Dunstan, Hill
HF: Higgin, Sharman, Butler
F: Kent, Membrey, Ross
Foll: Marshall, Steele, Crouch
Int: Byrnes, Joyce , McKenzie, Clark
Sub: Bytel
Dunstan to Guthrie, Kent to put some work into Henry

Re: Changes for Geelong game
He did a hammy against Carltoon. If that's standard 21 days rehab - I'd say he's done for the season pretty much

Re: Changes for Geelong game
I thought that we bought Frawley in for the Hawkins type match-up. Frawley has been playing at Sandy and I don't think that he is injured. This year is gone for us, so don't risk others.
Rest Ryder for next year. Howard with a hammy will not be ready. Clark is damaged and should be rested now for next year. Getting better Draft picks should be the go to now.

Lucky we aren’t playing finals. We wouldn’t have enough fully fit players.

Why should Ross get a free ride, he was ordinary against Carlton and even worse last week.

Re: Changes for Geelong game
Because he has a few credits in the bank!!!
And he played his role in the last game. Wasn’t great, but not bad.
Byrnes and Connolly hardly touched it

Re: Changes for Geelong game
Rubbish. Did you even watch the game?
Most metres gained by any saints player. 20 possessions. Some amazing handpasses and a hand in most goals.
He definitely won't be dropped.

Play Hannaberry...make him earn at least some of his pay....if he gets injured maybe he will just give it away

I didn’t realise metres gained is counted when you kick it straight to the opposition, go back and watch it I counted 7 direct turnovers by footsaynta wrote: ↑Tue 10 Aug 2021 7:38pmRubbish. Did you even watch the game?

Only 7? Re: Changes for Geelong game
7 clangers (direct turnovers)
Let’s see if the stats line up with your ‘keen observation’
As I thought
Seb Ross
19 disposals
3 clangers
Now most people gave votes to Steele and Marshall yeah?!
Marshall
25 disposals
8 Clangers
Steel
34 disposals
6 clangers
But hey, don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story
The bias against Ross is bewildering and to be honest
Laughable
This year will be the second year Dunstan will finish top 10 in the B&F (probably 6-8th?) after having finished 9th before
He has been dropped several times to the VFL throughout his career
Ross has finished top 6 five times in a row including 2 wins and a second. Hasn’t played VFL since early 2015.
Dunstan fans and Ross haters (generally the same group)
Better get used to the idea that Luke is going (he wants out, club ok with it) and Seb ending up a 200gamer.
I admire Seb
A shining light during tough times - his 2017 was outstanding
A reserved, humble, team oriented leader who cares for the club jumper.

News reports say that King and Ryder will probably play and that Hannebery will come in.

Re: Changes for Geelong game
I don't admire Ross.
Does some clever stuff at times, but overall he is a liability.
After Steele became an elite player, and we added Jones and Crouch in there, what was there left for Seb?
Become a tagger, a job that he is not equipped for.
The games the opposition have got a run on against us, he goes completely missing.
I for one would like him to go at the end of the year - same with Billings too.
Stop praising up players that would struggle to get a game with at least the top six clubs.

Re: Changes for Geelong game
Several folks on here (and I'm one too) believe that Seb's 2 B n F awards are proof that our list (at the time) was very poor, and that one indicator that we are getting better is when Seb becomes a fringe player, not best 22.oboe wrote: ↑Wed 11 Aug 2021 1:27am I don't admire Ross.

He is very fit, extremely fit, but as far as footy brains go, he really doesn't have much.
Of course he can get the ball.
He used to get high-20s, and he was often highest possession-getter in the team.
But he seems to be selfish far too often- thinking 'me first' rather than 'team-first'.
My opinion.
No matter how anyone responds, I won't change my mind, so don't waste keystrokes defending him
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.
