As a really short term prospect/stopgap enroute to a permanent solution, I tend to think it is, or at the very least it's worth a punt based on a poor market for choice.

I mean what are the other options in the market of "proven performers" and then is it a case of are we in the wrong market and should be chasing the same type of player in the national draft and develop. Can this list wait for that route?

He’s that good a ruckman, he’s barely played the position and he’s 6’11”

Is it possible the club is thinking more of a key tall forward to provide a chopout to Max and pinch hit in the ruck if RoMa and/or Paddy are injured. Gotta have someone as a backup. It would be silly not to.

But he seems personable enough and we don't have a Yank. That one good game he played was a ripper. Pretty sure we have recruited worse. I think every team needs a big Cox. There, you made me say it.

Once the ball hits the ground the team is one player short.
Makes it too easy for the opposition to clear the ball out of defence.

The very reason Ross Lyon did not want Fraser Gehrig in Gehrig last year.

He's comfortably better than Hunter and McKernan. But there's got to be better options.

I tend to think the same but my theory is COVID has really dried up the well. Either through the lack of development in the feeder comp since lockdowns started or because the comp is financially stressed and so the cash to throw at free agency isn't there.

It might just be a case of begggers can't be choosers.

It's hard to fathom that recruiters with the nouse and skill to pluck Cooper Sharman from the SANFL reserves would then trade for Cox. But then again, this is St.Kilda we are talking about.

"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

To me if Collingwood paying his salary and get him to replace Hunter, therefore our back up to the back up ruck then possibly worth a 4th or 5th round pick as collingwood need points for Daicos

I wonder if the media is just going purely on his manager's wish list.
Hopefully our club answered the email from Cox's manager with:
'Thanks for your interest in our club, however your client doesn't fit with our list demographic and future plans.
We wish you all the best in securing gainful employment for your client'.

He'll end up playing country football when it gets restarted.

But Cox is huge. He just needs to know how to use it to his advantage. All show and no go! Alabakis has been delisted so we need to replace him with like for like.

Yeah I’m not getting the hate

He’s clearly not a long term goer but if you get him super cheap and pay him peanuts…
Seems like he’d be an upgrade on Alabakis, Hunter and McKernan

Absolutely have no idea why we would be showing interest in Cox.
Is this another Zig and Zag brain wave ?
We are honestly becoming a joke with our recruitibg
Pay overs for a guy who plays bruise free football and racks up possessions all uncontested

Pay overs for a guy who has a beaten body and pmays 2 games all year 1 intotal in 3 years.

Fair dinkum now interested in Cocks please

What a circus we have down at Moorabbin.
