Training 24/3

Post: # 1943620Post longtimesaint »

Went to training this morning and I was impressed with the energy by the players.
Zac Jones was running laps which was a great sight.
Also doing laps were Billings, Clark and Hannebery.
Everyone else in full training with the senior players in black though I only counted 19 or 20
Standouts from what I saw were Wilkie, Hayes. Sinclair and Hill.

Spoke to Tony Brown for a while and he said Zac Jones came back to the club on Monday but in the gym.
He needs a conditioning block and hoping for round 5 or 6.
Also said Ryder playing vfl this week and hoping to play round three.
Said Bytel also needs an intensive trading block as hasn’t trained much since January due to ongoing calf .

Max King taking a lot of set shots and kicking a lot of them.
All in all a really good session.

Thanks for the post

Was Max kicking over someone’s head or was he just waltzing in with no one standing on the mark?

Usually someone on the mark - mainly one of the assistant coaches or trainers
Max looks very fit and moving well

Max’s slow walk in, and toe poking the ball is the problem

He needs to get some momentum and kick through the ball

It like he hits a half 5 iron pitch

I think he tenses up in a match when everyone is relying on him to kick it.
At training he is far less tense and kicks through the ball better.

King’s issue is his balancing arm. He lifts it up rather than out. He gets the rest of his action pretty right.

All the elite kicks balancing or guiding arm goes out not up.

I hear that chamomile is useful to help you relax and keep calm and another herb; cannabis could also be helpful

Actually, maybe the footy club could pay for a nice Thai massage for Max one day prior to a match

“Conditioning block”?? F@&k me, what’s he been doing for three weeks, drinking milkshakes and smoking bong?

Ffs, he was cut like a Adonis less than a month ago and flying around the park - how could he possibly lose that much condition that he needs another 4 weeks?

I guess we’ll just play his obvious like-for-like replacement then - you know, what’s his name? …that guy who is fast and troubles the opposition, you know?? Ummmm??? …that other guy??????

Conditioning Block - it’s a head shaker isn’t it. I remember the days when you were short of gallop you played a few weeks in the reserves to get match fit. Hard to believe they can’t build their fitness playing for Sandy.

I'll have to watch him & others now to see if there is a variance, but it make sense you would be more balanced with your opposite arm out rather than up.
