Richmond plays finals and loses in the first round
Misses finals
Gets a better fixture, builds confidence and wins a premiership.

Saints play finals in 2020
Get a tough fixture in 2021 and miss finals
2021 - slightly better fixture, gets belief after winning some games…

Anyone that thinks the draw is biased is against us basically every season lives in a fantasy land.

Just as an example we could finish below Collingwood. The following season we would get Geelong twice each. Just we get sent to Geelong they don’t.

One game advantage to them.

Yep, completely reasonable.

SD?
By SD are you referring to me???

If so - please crawl back into your sad little hole

My issue with you and Curly - and I have called you on it before is
The world is NOT Black and White
Neither of you can accept grey and in doing so you p!ss a lot of people on this forum off

Please read and understand:
- I used to umpire - so I know the difficulties
- Not all the time are umpires going to call everything - and get it right
- There is no conspiracy - just a certain level of incompetence
- The Umpires are paid TOO bl00dy well to just do a 'near enough is good enough'
- If the AFL came out and actually discussed the incorrect calls and gave us an interpretation that they used (and stuck to it) there would be a lot less angst - instead they say 'nothing to see here'
- I, as a St Kilda supporter, see things that I would call one way - others may call it differently
- Again, as a St Kilda supporter, I am not going to stand up and take Richmond's point of view in a 50/50

Having read this - if you try and drag me into a fight between you and Curley you WILL be reported for bating

If, perchance. SD meant Sunday Dance - then please ignore the above

Oh - and above all - I hate the misuse of Grammar - lol
I was referring to your previous post having a go at me out of nowhere intimating that I was inventing the “we always get screwed with the draw” ridiculous claims around here.

But if you’re bringing up umpiring…

Never have I said it’s black and white. Never have I claimed they don’t make mistakes. Why do you continue to state otherwise? I’d be happy if you could find any post to the contrary. Here’s a hint though - it doesn’t exist.

I agree with everything you’ve said above re umpiring. All I do is reject any notion there is a conspiracy or inherent bias against us (same as with the draw). So why do you like to misrepresent my position?
You have clearly now read my point on the issue and understand what I have said - so thank you for acknowledging that

And you have consistently defended the 'mistakes' by saying they are interpretations - or that it is hard - or ........ or consistently derail the discussion by calling 'conspiracy' when someone wants to blow off steam on a ST KILDA forum, to the point that I suspect that you enjoy arguing more than being a St Kilda supporter.

If I have got it wrong - happy to leave you be - all I ask is the same

Not only do you have a one track mind - the train also only goes one way

Curly disrupts Game Day Threads - and has (in the past had the decency to start another thread)

You try and disrupt EVERY thread
And The_Dud

The reason that I weighed in like this was that I am tired of this line of the 'conspiracy theory' [don't worry - I think Curley overcooks it as well

To quote wifey - "It irks me" - if you contribute positively - maybe people would respect your view more - I used to find your input in the 2000's and 2010's interesting - and communicative - now - as I said - 1 track mind - train only going one way

But I still seem to remember you as a Raph basher - lol

And I can't Foe you as you vote on the game day threads and it would be unfair to not count your input in that respect

Taking it further, we were 1-4 in '97 and ended up top of the ladder and Grand Finalists.

Round Five is too early to be booking finals tickets. Or September vacations.

Teflon wrote: Mon 18 Apr 2022 8:00pm Good discussion and I thought Hawks win would bring the horde - Hawks are a young side , up and down and we certainly played well.

As I said I’m enjoying how we are playing- to me the biggest difference is in key areas:

1. We are actually running games out - super fit
2. Skills - it’s no surprise that having the ball in Sinclair or Hills or NWM for that matter forward of centre has helped us
3. Run n carry - Gresham has added done much needed outside run
4. Backline looks solid and Lienert another good user out of the back half
5. King believes but he’s well supported by Higgins/Membrey

It’s all good news but I’ll still reserve judgment till we play some proven quality
See my previous post in this thread. Not sure if you understand but I can help or Vortex can help for clarification.

you can only beat the teams that you are up against.

Great win against Freo which have only lost to StKilda
In the first half against GC I thought we were outplayed, and were down on the score board, but I never thought we would lose.
Hawthorn have just beaten Geelong

There was a bit said when we lost to Collingwood, but I believe they are better than anticipated at the start of the year.

We are winning well by dominating the second halves of games.

If we keep playing this well there will be few challengers for the Saints (eg only Melbourne, Brisbane, Geelong ....) and therefore should end up playing in September.

It depends on how you look at it.

We have beaten two sides currently in the eight and we haven't played any of the bottom six yet.

We have to learn to win at Geelong. It isn't a scary place.

It does here’s another
All sides we’ve beaten so far finished below us on ladder last year
Hence why I’m reserving judgment
Good signs
Not convinced yet
But good sides win matches they should….this week should be no different
