Kermit Brereton: King comments
Just watching the replay- Dermott reckons King is getting all of his goals when the game is over in the last quarter and needs to kick them when the game is on the line. He says “anyone can kick 4 easy ones when you’re on top.”
Dear Dermott, watch the last quarter vs Freo - we were behind. Watch the last quarter vs Richmond, we were behind.
This guy is such a tool.
Only ever ranks the top end of town. Easy way to commentate, that.
Loves to keep St.Kilda “Down”.

Re: Kermit Brereton: King comments
Not sure Brereton has it in for the Saints or King.
I think he dishes it out to all clubs fairly evenly, and I don't think the challenge he's put before King is unreasonable.
King has a long way to go. He's done it under pressure in patches; he's also messed it up a bit (he's the first to admit that). I think when he puts it all together - and I have no doubt he will - we'll have an outstanding footballer on our hands. I'm looking forward to that moment and the signs are all positive.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Gee he makes Derm look like a small forward, hard to believe Derm was the prototype tall forward in the 80s.

Half the time he's talking crap and 1 thing is for certain... Dermot really rates HIS opinions and he delivers HIS really strong opinions as if they are the ONLY opinions that count

Re: Kermit Brereton: King comments
Dermott has been the best hindsight commentator the game has seen. (David King, a try hard for that mantle.) If Dermott is now getting his hindsight comments so badly wrong, his next stop is to be part of Hutchy's stable.

Re: Kermit Brereton: King comments
Just completely ignorant lazy thing to say if he said that. King actually was instrumental in winning us two games by kicking goals in the last quarter against Freo and Tiges. And on Saturday he kicked goals in the early part of the game. King has deficiencies that he can work on but kicking cheap easy goals isn't one of them.

Re: Kermit Brereton: King comments
The talent pool is pretty shallow when you pay Dirty Dermie to be in the commentary box. The dribble that they carry on about is not worth listening to. Dermie has not made a single positive comment about St Kilda in recent times. At the Hawthorn game he was talking of a Hawks comeback when they were gone.
All in all the game commentary is pretty shyte, the best is Roo by a country mile. Buckley is good too.

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

And if Riewoldt was in the picture he'd stand half way between each in height.evertonfc wrote: ↑Tue 19 Apr 2022 12:00pm

Amazing the height change over the years.
Imagine Sandilands standing next to John Nicholls.
Calleb Daniel would have been a CHF in the 50's

Re: Kermit Brereton: King comments
Dermott is the most irrelevant and out of touch commentator in the game. I cant believe that he is still getting a gig at Fox, I wouldnt put any weight in any of his comments.

Yeah, he had a soft spot for Danny Frawley alright.
It was the center of the back of Danny's head.

Re: Kermit Brereton: King comments
I was a bit surprised by the comment. His 3 goals in 6 minutes in the third term against Freo took us from behind to the lead and his 4th in the last was vital. His first goal which was in the last quarter against Richmond put us in front and he kicked the next one too to give us a handy lead.

Where’s Dermie been?
As others have pointed out, King was a major factor in our come from behind wins this season.
He either doesn’t watch the footy, has amnesia or he’s having a lend.

Was that because we sacked Watters?

No
Because when he played against us, he saw us as a rabble of a club he couldn’t have any respect for us… just a losing culture
Still holds the same view
Even though we win games, we will never be successful- that sort of thing!

He doesn’t watch our games… and even when he does he can’t remember what happened, so he just makes up stuff

Re: Kermit Brereton: King comments
I used to think that as well, but the last year or two has changed my mind I think he genuinely likes the Saints always gives a little excited smile when they win, I think he is harsh on them (and there is no doubt he has been harsh on them) because he wants them to do better. I also think he is the prince hindsight (David King being the King of course) and tries to find flaws as a part of his commentary as well.

Didn’t the Hawks pinch the Peninsula zone? He and a few others could have been Saints.
