Butler has to be dropped after tonight, he is a 'tinker bell', soft as butter.

Re: Saints vs Port. Game thread
Can somebody tell our blokes when the ball is slippery 90% of time it skids out the back of marking contests.
That's the dumbest half of football I have ever seen.
Is there any chance Ratten makes Allir Allir accountable?

Re: Saints vs Port. Game thread
I bet the AFL is regretting scheduling this on free to air instead of Blues-North

Re: Saints vs Port. Game thread
We're trying to play dry day footy in what is wet conditions. We need to slow it down a bit and use the ball smarter- too much dumb stuff that quarter.

Awful game
Umpiring is extraordinary- i get every free wrong..literally the opposite decision of what I’m expecting every time
We’ll burn them in the third

Re: Saints vs Port. Game thread
Exactly. Both our half forwards are at the front the pack - it's one in front, one behind - simple. Max King should also help, by helping the ball backwards some of the time. This means the players must TALK!Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Sat 30 Apr 2022 9:25pm Can somebody tell our blokes when the ball is slippery 90% of time it skids out the back of marking contests.

Re: Saints vs Port. Game thread
Exactly our forward entries have been terrible, it's not like he doesn't stand out. We dominated the first 45 minutes and didn't look like scoring. Our forwards were caught behind their opponent in nearly every contest - shocking.
Surely they knew it was going to be the equivalence of a wet game? They are definitely not playing like that. Ryder & Campbell need to extract a digit & Steele & Crouch were too quiet that 1/4.
Gresham refused to chase at all after a turn over forward, which looked ordinary.
Our back line is holding up well- they just need to learn to go with flat hands when marking.

Re: Saints vs Port. Game thread
Pretty crappy first half due to the s*** conditions up there. We still need to lower the eyes like we did for pour only goal that 2nd qtr.
I was just looking at the stats on the AFL web site and Lienert is wearing his PA jumper.

Re: Saints vs Port. Game thread
Even the last kick forward by Webster
chest on, running at goal through the centre - straight to Aliir
What was Aliir’s opponent doing? And who is it?
King - Clurey
Jonas - Membrey
Aliir - Who?

great to see footy in different conditions. probably in a tiny minority but i enjoy watching players have to adapt.

Re: Saints vs Port. Game thread
The stats say we’re a much better second half team. Let’s see if that holds up…

Re: Saints vs Port. Game thread
You summed it up nicely- though maybe Gresh is sore after getting a knock to the hip early. I think this game will be won in the coaching box from hereon.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Sat 30 Apr 2022 9:33pmExactly our forward entries have been terrible, it's not like he doesn't stand out. Re: Saints vs Port. Game thread
Game will open up a bit in the second half
There will be some out-the-back goals
Butler working hard defensively but is horribly out of form with the ball - the rare times he gets it!

I've enjoyed the first halves of Ross and Long. I also like the way NWM & Windhager are presenting.

Are our players really such snowflakes in your opinion?Bruce G McAbee wrote: ↑Sat 30 Apr 2022 9:11pm The AFL should be shot for this game being scheduled up there now.
88% humidity which means we're shot for next week.
This game should have been scheduled in June or July with both teams having a bye the following week.
