Same for every club. How many pet memberships? How many Collingwood members actually support that club, versus how many only buy their memberships because of all the good sponsor deals? The discount you get on Emirates flights to Europe makes it worth it for that alone. Those people wouldn't attend any of their matches nor give two sh*ts about the Pies.

I got a late season membership as a gift for someone (4 Home Games for $40:00). Bargain basement ...reminded me of this ad

I assume it includes the membership I attempted to buy several times - international membership. No games whatsoever, but a Kayo-like pass to watch AFL games on the internet whilst overseas.

From last years figures:
In total, the AFL reported a record 1,113,441 total memberships this year — 726,897 adults, 99,807 concessional members and 286,737 juniors — well up from 992,854 from a 2020 season affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

So it is possible that these figures a full memberships not pets or 3 for $30 type memberships

We also know that fewer people would go to the footy post-pandemic. Fewer people would go out period, public transport numbers down etc.

The Saints TV guys say Saints home game day experience is worst in the AFL. I agree it is poor. Hopefully keeping 60,000 entertained will cause the Club to lift their game in that regard.

Two things re GameDay experience: firstly, most game day numbers are down- our supporters don't show up in numbers . Secondly, our supporters seem more guarded during a game because generally uncertain about what we will dish up from QTR to QTR.
A win is generally met with a sense of relief. Unlike the2000's where we had an expectation of winning every game.
So GameDay experience is directly related to onfield performance..
