There is no rush with the trade and drafts over. Hopefully we are looking at attracting the absolute best available?

Don’t we have a record number of players OOC this season?
Better not wait too long
We need to extend the right players

If we get SOS, he can be forward coach and dad of our next free agent.

Re: Any News on our new List manager!!
there would be noone else that is experianced and available. him or Tony Elshaug but he is also at another club. So unless the club already had someone in mind and was just waiting. ...

I’d rather go green then. Elshaug and SOS have both had reasonable stints and based on performance, the take away message to me at least is… you wouldn’t want to back their judgment.

Not sure SOS level of responsibility at GWS but the drafting during his tenure at the club was beyond horrendous.
Multiple top 5 & top 10 draft pick fails.
Then at Carlton he doubled down on a few of these picks (albeit at a reduced price).

Knows J. Gallagher is a hard act to follow and it would be too ironic if he had to cut young Stocker.

Re: Any News on our new List manager!!
The list manager - whilst they work with the recruiters - more so need to be a numbers man.
It is their responsibility to shape the list and negotiate contracts whilst keeping us under the cap.
A footy background is beneficial, but not essential
The list manager is not a recruiter- he deals with managers and contracts

Re: Any News on our new List manager!!
I’d take SOS over Elshaugh… but both bad
Really need to look at outside square in this NOT go backwards
This is one of those appointments Id be happy for Geoff Walsh to step in and say…sorry Ross….no to those 2..

Say you were the list manager and you heard young Hotton had a back issue, would you have still picked him up?

Absolutely, Bytel's career is almost coming to an end so hopefully Hotton can develop into his role.
Please disregard this post if you lack a sense of humour.

Re: Any News on our new List manager!!
If you're right saynta I'd prefer Graeme 'Gubby' Allan over SOS - I thought someone had posted the latter is not in the race.
Allan is 68 and will be considered by many on this forum as too old for the role of List Manager.
However, if he is in good physical shape there is no question that his experience in attracting top talent to the teams he's been involved with over the years is streets ahead of his contemporaries, and combined with the contacts he has accumulated in the industry suggests to me that Allan will be a very good choice indeed.
It's not all that long ago that having both Geoff Walsh as EGM of Football with Graeme Allan as List Manager at an AFL club would be regarded as a 'Dream Team'!!

Dads Army more likely...but honestly I dont see age as a barrier if they have the energy.Sanctorum wrote: ↑Thu 26 Jan 2023 3:54pmIf you're right saynta I'd prefer Graeme 'Gubby' Allan over SOS - I thought someone had posted the latter is not in the race.

Re: Any News on our new List manager!!
having the energy is the key, most people in their late 60s can't compare their energy to someone in the prime of their career for such a demanding role...accept there might be outliers but it's a position we should consider the most important at the club and invest accordingly.Impatient Sainter wrote: ↑Thu 26 Jan 2023 4:26pmDads Army more likely...but honestly I dont see age as a barrier if they have the energy.Sanctorum wrote: ↑Thu 26 Jan 2023 3:54pmIf you're right saynta I'd prefer Graeme 'Gubby' Allan over SOS - I thought someone had posted the latter is not in the race.
