Didn't look good. Had trouble putting any weight on his ankle.

Rossie gave his head a rub, so he'll be fine.

Well he needs to extend his magic touch to our injury list too because we need it to turn around.

Anyone know the story on Bytel. Looks like he did an ankle and he looked pretty upset about it. Speculated as a break by those around us but my feeling was it looked like a twist/jar as he was putting more weight in it towards the end

On the replay I thought it could have been a break, but the way he went off and then iced up after makes it look more like a ankle ligament issue, and hopefully not a too bad one.

He was having a laugh with Ross in the rooms after so hopefully that’s a good sign.

What happened to Marshall? Subbed out. Appeared to be holding his neck at the end.

I was at the game. Here is my take. This was a good old fashioned walloping. We put them to the sword. From the opening bounce it was clear the Suns were never going to win.

The Saints were slow to begin, and the Suns managed to stay with us for the first quarter. But this team needs space to operate. They found it in the second Q and we started dominating them.

Up by more than 20 at half time. The second quarter is also where we clearly showed what we have been lacking as a footy club for so long. A game plan that works, that everyone understands and knows what their role is. We put the opposition under so much defensive pressure they cough it up, we pounce and score. Really quick ball movement. Guys getting to the right position. We are great on defence and equally great in attack.

Ok. Let’s talk about individual players:

Cal Wilkie. Stand in Captain Fantastic. What a recruiting coup it was to get him. Super cool and poised under pressure. A great mark he knows how to get to the right spots. He’s the general down back. He and Dougal Howard were superb tonight. He beat Ben king.

Brad Couch.Busy, busy, busy. The guy is such a busy player with an incredible work rate and ethic. Runs and runs and never stops running.

Mitch Owens. Wow. I was shocked at how good he is. What a player. This kid is the real deal. The best young prospect we’ve had in a long time in my view. Superb mark, great kick and always up and about. A lot of people at Marvel were saying this was his best game for the Saints.

Seb Ross. I have no idea why this guy has so many haters. He does not deserve it nor is he a bad kick of the footy. Not from where I was sitting.

Brad Hill. Another who attracts unfair criticism. Tonight he was superb. Elite running. The goal he kicked in the third quarter was outrageous.

I totally get why RTB likes Cordy and Stocker. It’s good to have experienced heads in a team which is so inexperienced.

Jack Sinclair. All Australian and some. Was switched into the midfield in the second Q. He got us going.

Love NWM. Tall rangy kid. Rarely if ever wastes a disposal.

Ryan Byrnes, another talented young player. Attacks the ball relentlessly. The more he plays, the better he will get. He’s already pretty good.

Hunter Clark. Operates under the radar. But has the knack of always being in the right place at the right time. Well and truly found his calling in this footy team. Works in superbly with his team mates.

Jack Higgins. Much, much improved kicking for goal. He has a weird approach. Comes from the side almost at right angles even from dead in front. 5.1 was a great result for him.

Young Caminiti. Great pair of hands. Awful and awkward kicking style but he snagged a couple so can’t complain.

Jack Bytel. Came on as sub for Marshall. Then got injured. Didn’t look good. Felt very sorry for him. I hope it is not as bad as it looked.

Overall, I can’t believe how the coaches are getting such a good return from this group. They are playing so well. They really looked the goods tonight.

Cannot stress enough how bad the suns are. They will go close to last this year, they were pitiful.

.
He was just rested and it was pre-planned to do so.

In the Coaches post-game presser RTB said they were originally go to rest him from 3/4 time. But they kept him on just a little longer

Tongue in cheek?

Suns are a good side. Fast, good talls. They wont be last or close to it.

I guess you are kidding, though.

Their only win was against the bottom team at home.

I knew we'd beat them - I cannot believe that any St Kilda supporter thought we would seriously lose to the Suns. Was never going to happen.

Kid is a gun! 😁
We were impressed with him on his debut last year.
Surely you're joking. Was one of the worst debuts I've ever seen. Kid literally didn't touch the ball. (maybe once or twice) and looked all at sea. Was played in the midfield against the pies and ran around like a headless chook. Fast forward 10 or so games and he literally looks like he could be anything. No way you could see that from his debut though

Slinging an opponent over a leg to trip him up then sit on his leg has the potential to tear knee ligaments, break a leg and at minimum break an ankle.
But it is not even penalised as a dangerous tackle.
The AFL suits are overpaid bone ignorant.

Another record has been set. On to page 4 and NO comments about umpiring.

They aren’t bad. Inconsistent is better.

Last night they didn’t stop trying. The tall kid in the ruck was good as was Anderson, Rowell and Miller.

If they’d maintained their first Q effort for four quarters, we could have been in strife.

As Ross said before the game. They have far more talent than us. They beat Cats last week. They have some great players. Very strange comment
