Probably the worst half of football across the AFL this year. Do you think any neutrals are still watching?? Lol

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 8 2023
The forward approach is still bomb
We are keeping them in it
We simply have to get better inside 50 just can’t keep that level of efficiency up
No question in my mind Membrey makes that forward line static, predictable- he can’t take a contested mark to save his life but won’t **** lead up at the ball carrier????
Bring back Caminiti as a must have
Tim is not the future

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 8 2023
Worst game of footy in history.
We are fkn s***. This side got beaten by 100 points last week and have won 4 games in two and a half years!!!
Could hardly beat them last year as well.
So over this type of stuff. Should be a comfortable 50-80 point win on paper, but no, not St Kilda…..

At game and neither teams fans are happy. It’s just comically bad. Neither team has any skills today and it’s lucky if there are 3 passes in a row that hit their target.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 8 2023
Agree
They were always going to come with pressure but some of our lack of composure going forward is own goal stuff
Even a few chains then when we stop, prop , try handball to the guy next to us just invites that pressure
We are not seriously top 4 on that skill level let’s be honest
If we are that fumbly cause Nth turn up the heat ….how would we cope with a Dees in a semi final???
Be butchered

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 8 2023
We have been horrible in front of goal. I am yet to find a word strong enough to describe North's set shots, though. It ain't pretty but it is AFL and you could expect the Roos to put up a far better effort after a drubbing last week. We've seen that effort but I feel we got on top in the last 10 minutes Hopefully, we continue on in that vein after the break.

Our best are Byrnes, Wanganeen-Milera, and Wilkie.
Caminiti is a 19 year old pup, but right now we need him.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 8 2023
On a positive
Hunter Clarke - looks to be the only one with a clue
Sharman - moving well, 2 shots at it, stunning mark looks lively (Vortex would be p?ssed)
Defence - Wilkie a star but rest doing their job well
Owens = star love the mongrel, intent he brings weekly
Negative
Membrey up forward- makes the forward line look slow
No Bytel/Windhager ….at least 1 of them should be getting
games
Ball movement- at times being way to cute, over possessed the footy

Replace "OO" with "I" and you have summed up the first half.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 8 2023
Sharman vs Cordy update:
8 touches, 5 marks (1 hanger), 2 points (probably should have had a goal)
Seems like the right move at this point.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 8 2023
Not true
Even Fox saying he could go in there
I genuinely think if we are going to take a step forward as a side that midfield needs an injection of star power and he has it

Re: Match Thread Saints v Roos Round 8 2023
I just hope we can get out of this with the four points.
Obviously forward efficiency is a major concern and will be helped by King and Caminiti next week.

I think that’s more due to them butchering shots than our outstanding defending!desertsaint wrote: ↑Sun 07 May 2023 6:58pm kept them goalless an entire half - first time this century. rejoice!
