So it was some utopia with no hierarchy or social pecking order or items of value to exchange goods grown or obtained?
what is under appreciated ... is that nations ran a cultcha of ... no widows no orphans

we didn't eat em , enslave em or shun them
... we integrated 'n evolved

compare that , with the white boy effort

Many fund managers avoid commodity based stocks like BHP. 'Commodity stocks are too volatile' they often say. Would have been a great buy 30 years ago or even 20 years ago before they split into their various offshoots like Bluescope, North etc. Used to be heavily exposed to coal. Now heavily exposed to Oil and Gas through ownership of Woodside stake
“Mining is evil”, they shout from the rafters.

Without mining Australia will be broke.
It’ll continue into the foreseeable future no matter how much Govts talk it down and how much the great unwashed complain about it.

Are you sure it’s Australia and Australians that get their fair share from mining the resources on this land?

Or is it just that the slaves pay taxes and the real wealth goes back to the British Crown or to the Rockefellers and Rothschilds

How do the taxes and royalties paid here compare with other countries? See the links below

Is the Australian public getting utterly fleeced on the sale of natural resources that belong to us all?

Like wages, you always want more.

If the govt tipped money in to begin with they share in the profit.

Now projects make billions, easy to then stick their hand out. The shareholders that put their balls on the line now reap the benefits.

Aboriginal communities win as well given they get an armchair ride with the royalties now paid as well as mass employment. Not a bad result I’d have thought.

If you are going to go down the stolen land path, would it have been developed in order to make money.
No, it wouldn’t have and no one would have reaped any benefit.

What's the difference between a guernsey and a jersey ?
A guernsey is made of wool from the Channel Island of Guernsey whereas a jersey is made of wool from the Channel Island of Jersey.

There were no sheep in Australia at the time of the white invasion so definitely not indigenous.

The more you know, the more you know you don't know.
When I was a young child, I knew that I knew so much about so much.
Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Thats actually pretty funny. Well done. But, the were originally called Opossums, made from Opossum from Central Queensland. 😉True dinks.

The whitefellas all giggled when they heard the words 'Oh Possum' and just went with Jersey and later, Guernsey.

Yep, it makes money..
And money is nice..

I think the topic of who owns what is another topic, but it is a fascinating one too, both from a philosophical and political point of view. I was too young, but I remember my Dad and Mum telling me something about how Whitlam's government and how they put Australia's mining back in Australia's hands..or attempted to.

Do you know this...
How many mines in Australia are foreign-owned?

Mining in Australia - Wikipedia
The mining sector employed in 2021 about 270,000 people, about 2.0% of the total labour force. Australia's mining industry is 86% foreign owned, Although many people think BHP and Rio Tinto as Australian companies, BHP is 76% foreign owned, and Rio Tinto is 83%.

How about that Aussies?

Hey guys how about we stick to comments about the jumper ffs and leave off with the clearly offensive comments and those best suited to the general forum or the rubbish bin.

That's comic gold mate, particularly considering your recent post about Filth supporters, not that I care, I just reckon it's very funny.

It's a good jumper. I've got a collection of the Indigenous jumpers, I'd like to have a complete collection, I'm a fan.

Ah ha...

yep..comic

Some good contributors to this thread.

I enjoyed reading some of them.

Sticking to the topic at hand is always good, but let's not pretend it is just a gesture (wearing the indigenous jumper) that is not supposed to be discussed. It is there to be a statement...and we are encouraged to discuss that statement, for whatever reason.

ffs

yep

You mean we should not post politics in this forum or else.
Or else you get banned like I once was.

PS look what happens when a rugby player suffers too many head high tackles.
Save our players from a similar fate.
The head is sacrosanct.

I think he might have been saying that since this thread relates to this year’s indigenous guernsey that maybe people might want to comment about that.
If you want to talk about something else there’s probably another thread for that.

The filth are fair game mate. Have hated their supporters ever since they spat on me as a 8 year old Saints mascot out at that pig sty they called Victoria Park.

So there will be no apology from me.

Look what you have done. Made me go off topic. 8-)

Love the jumper though and have ordered one.I'm a fan too.
