Predictions for Giants game

Post: # 2009038Post WellardSaint »

One thing is certain- no need to take the crowd out of the equation.
Would be lucky to get 13k to the ground.

(I think GWS vs Blues early this season got <10k, and AFL app won't give any crowd sizes for any games last yr at Giants Stadium)

Not much noise.

Ok, most goals
Higgo 4
Most marks Wilkie 12
Most touches Crouch 28 (Steele has a sore knee n might be rested)

Margin: Us by 12

Total Points Unders nearly a certainty.
166 was the line last time I looked.

If it reaches that then I’d suggest we will lose

Agree
We won't kick a big score, no chance. Look at our 'points for', it's deplorable

We will kick little. They will kick less. Ommmmmmm.

The Hammer will defy the usual convention of having a down day on second week back

We'll beat them by 4 goals and Caminiti to kick 3!!

Their forwards match up very well against our defence who will have a torrid time.
Toby Green won't be tagged.
We lose.
Max plays ok.

Windy tagged Neale last yr, very well...
Is he good enough to tag Greene

They don't have Taranto and Hopper anymore which is a loss for them.
We beat them in Canberra last year where I think they play better.
We have had similar results as last year for most games, but we have a better system this year.
If Toby Greene doesn't play, I'd suggest we win reasonably comfortably, if he does it will be close, but we'll still win, I think.
King's first game back he could kick 4 or 5 on that ground, which I think suits a traditional full forward. We'll also have Caminiti leading as well, don't forget.
This is the type of game I would bring Billings back for and bring in Jimmy Webster too.
If Steelie is still sore, then Windy to start in the middle.

A recent article says GWS might bring in a 201cm ruckman,
who had a nice VFL game with 25 touches, 41 hit-outs, 7 clearances, and a goal, in a win vs Pies VFL team.

Ross should bring in Cordy or Campbell to relieve RoMa...

Surely it's now or an injured Marshall for Campbell to get a game this year.

Steele should miss if 50/50.

We had a huge injury list in round 1 but the message was that all who were selected were fit and able. I'm not sure that's the case at the moment.

I personally think GWS is done and dusted.

Either piss them off to Canberra or fold them after Tassie comes in.

You've had enough experience in huge organizations to understand that closing a failed experiment is an admission that they made a big mistake.
So folding them is never gonna happen 🤷🏼‍♂️

Imagine if they end up in Canberra (which might have more AFL cred than Western Sydney) and they merge with Ainslie 🤣 Saints colours
(I had a meal at Ainslie once, when I went to ACT with 6 or 7 other Defence employees for a training course)

Yeah, I have had meals at Ainslie footy club, Even had lunch there with Cowboy when he was the coach.

Yes, they have similar colours but from memory the panels are reversed. Black white and red.

Personally I believe that they, GWS, can't exist in Western Sydney. The population there is just not interested in Aussie Rules with less than 2000 kids playing the game and that's being generous with the numbers.

On the other hand, games in Canberra now draw more fans than GWS games in Sydney.

Canberra has a rich history of supporting AFL, unlike Western Sydney.

Unfortunately since the hey days of Cowboy and his ilk, AFL has waned there simply because Canberra now has local Rugby league and Ruby union teams in National competitions.Raiders and Brumbies.

All that would likely change if the ACT had its own team.

Seeing that we are back to being the 10 goal Saints.
If we don't keep them under that we are stuffed.
As I said last week , if Adelaide kick straight we're screwed , it's ditto this week .
GWS ain't as good as the crows but our inability to score from forward forays keeps them in it and more than capable of winning.

GWS should become Greater Western Canberra, covering the broader Belconnen and Gungahlin areas all the way to the NSW border

So far everything I predicted at the start of the season is on track to turn into reality:

http://saintsational.net/viewtopic.php? ... n#p1996341

So my prediction for this round is for Higgo to advance his claim as the leading goal kicker and for Couch adance his claim as this seasons TB winner.

Having our two KPFs in at exactly the right time. Giants are leaking goals at the moment. Hopefully the boys kick at least 100 points, and preferably 20 goals.

I hope I'm wrong, but I imagine King will get manhandled all day and get zero frees, because, St Kilda.

He will take 6-8 marks, have 5 shots at goal.
Score 1.3 and one out of bounds.

I really hope I'm wrong
