GCS vs Crows

Post: # 2012367Post WellardSaint »

Watched Suns vs Crows, playing in Darwin.
27°
Suns were down by several goals before half-time.
They were being schooled by the Crows.
But came out after the break, and somehow, lifted across the board.
Rowell had only gotten 5 touches to half-time, but he turned it on.
Lukosius snagged several goals.
The Suns guy on Walker, did a much better job than Howard or Wilkie did.
Their players got their passes and handballs pretty accurate.
Unlike us.
Their players played for each other, didn't retreat into their shells like we do.
The Suns played like professionals with pride.
Ours are selfish downhill skiers, flat-track bullies, that beat up Suns, Freo and Dogs early on, when nobody knew what to expect, when those teams were still getting into their stride, and during that honeymoon period after the return of RTB and some favourite sons.

The Saints can't play like the Suns did. They were able to, in the past, but only for a few seasons.
We needed to play the way the Suns played today, we needed that against the Hawks, against Norf, and against the Crows.
Stewart Dew isn't a better coach than Ross, is he?

We need to face the truth that bringing back RTB, Lenny, Harves, Goddard, has been one of those magical fairytale ideas, but instead of a happy ending, it's gonna end badly.
The club is a shambles and there's no saving it.
The players have lost some games because they realise what's required to compete in the AFL, and they really don't feel like putting in the effort. It's all too hard

There was a game vs WCE, once, where we came back from behind, to beat them in a remarkable win.
Before that, in 2017, vs Bulldogs, we were down by 40-odd points, ended up winning.

But in the past 11 years, that's 2 that I can recall.
We're more likely to fold like a garden chair

So the Suns 6 wins in 12 is better than our 7 wins in 11 because they came from behind once therefore we should sack the coach.

Suns are a different side at Metricon and the Crows are a different side away from Adelaide

Home ground advantage is huge for interstate sides

St Kilda have won their last 8 matches vs Gold Coast, including Round 4 this year by 53 points.
