Membrey

Post: # 2015320Post older saint »

Just Saw Membrey out for 6-8 weeks with knee soreness meaning that he needs a training block. That is almost the season done, even allowing for conservative press release.

Knees can be tricky but seems like someone buggered something up with the strategy on this one seeing it was a pre season carried issue.

29 so still young enough moving forward, but a loss i think as does a lot of underrated sacrificial work .

I don’t mind Membrey staying on the list for another year or two even primarily playing at Sandy in a leadership/development role and having him come in to the seniors as depth as needed.

Pbly his best is behind him but I think he could still be a valuable contributor

Whatever the reason is I think the strategy should be to put the cue in the rack for this year and do what needs done with a view to round 1 next year.Playing a couple of games half injured won’t win the premiership this year and won’t do him any good either.

There is a lot more of it going around since 2021.
McStay and Oliver have had similar slow healing issues this season.

We'll believe anything if we believe 6-8 weeks is "nothing significant".

I just don't think he has a spot in the side even if fit.

Hopefully Misson n Ross don't rush him back in, like Steele.
Make sure he's good to go

The club has failed him.

Should have played in more finals than the COVID hub year.

For a period, he was our only lead-up forward, despite being mid-sized.

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

I agree
I wonder if he knows he’s not in forward plans and is mulling next steps..

We just put Membrey up for trade. The media will be following him to the doctor closely too.
