Bad Timing
Today's loss to GCS was a shocker but we really have been very unlucky with the way the fixture has turned against us this season.
Every week we seem to come up against a club which has a huge reason for winning and turning it around with lots of media attention. Be it just having a week of turmoil(eg. change of coach, coming off a record type loss)
or huge milestone game for opposition player.
In one case our opposition ( Richmond) had a double barrel reason.
Next week we face North with Clarkson returning to the club!

Re: Bad Timing
If we can't beat 15th placed gold coast or 17th placed north, no matter the circumstances. We don't deserve to play finals. Richmond also 14th so no challenge their either.
It's clear we are in the battle for 8th-14th, and nowhere near the battle for the top 4.

Re: Bad Timing
It's only bad timing because we are one of the most mentally weak teams ever. Have been for a long time!StPeter wrote: ↑Sat 15 Jul 2023 6:19pm Today's loss to GCS was a shocker but we really have been very unlucky with the way the fixture has turned against us this season.

Re: Bad Timing
I find it hard to imagine that we would have done any better if Dew was coaching the Suns.
It was a non factor.

Re: Bad Timing
It was a factor
Suns played far freer than previously
They’re actually a talented side
Genuine mids
Decent defenders and 2 pronged forward line that looks dangerous when the ball gets in quickly
They’ve been in games against top sides this year
Sit 1 game behind so let’s stop pretending the gap between 6-10 is huge…it isn’t
At home up there was always gonna be tough - we beat them by 50pts early season
That aside the teams effort today was poor - even some of our best looked ordinary
Kids look tired
Midfield is deplorable
Clean out coming and desperately needed

Re: Bad Timing
Did we not expect a sugar hit for them
It was obvious they’d come out hard
We were pathetic q1

Re: Bad Timing
The suns were always going to win today .
Dews sacking was their management finding any excuse to give him the arse so they can bring in the big name coach , either Hardprick or Hinkley .
The suns have been pretty good against most teams this year and they've had some woeful losses , but so has every team except the top two .
Last week's game they beat Port in 3/4 of footy , they just were shocking in the 3rd and that’s what secured Port the victory and enabled the Suns hierarchy to act on Dew .
The Suns are probably more than capable of finishing higher on the ladder than we are .
The crap we are dishing up at the moment doesn't look capable of beating anyone.

Still think they would have won even if Dew was coaching was my point.

Re: Bad Timing
Absolutely.
Hopeless skills, no heart, no leaders.
And sold as a eureka moment. If nothing else Ross has no shame. That was shameful and he is head coach.
Hint Ross: if you know players are not up to it, don't play them.
