We need 3 topline midfielders/playmakers... with run and carry.

Gee I hope Phillipou is getting a lot of long-term benefit out of playing in a final, because he has contributed just about nothing so far.

Owens, Caminiti and NWM have all been disappointing as well. Sadly, finals games are for men, not boys.

When will Marshall realise that the throw ins are 7 meters shorter than where he thinks they’ll go?

As I posted a couple of weeks ago, GWS was the team I least wanted to face in the finals: at home or away. We are unlucky that we got them rather than the Blues or the Swans, both of whom we were a reasonable chance of defeating.

I have to say that, on their display so far, GWS are more than a rough chance for the flag. They are strong in all parts of the ground.

Also GWS are kicking everything, important in a big final.

Small forwards very poor so far for us.

Big last goal, got that GWS one back.

Only 4 goals, we’ve shown we can score, we’re still a chance 👍

Well, I think we finished that quarter really well. We were a bit unlucky not to be only 17 points down. But I'll take that perforance in the last 10 minutes. We could conceivably give it a shake in the second half.

If we can keep that up for the rest if the game, I'll be happy win or lose.
I'm a realist and realise neither of these teams will get past next week.
For us, this should be about laying the foundation for another crack at winning number 2, it won't be next year, but possibly from 2025.
Recruitment is vital from here, we are a fair bit from it now and we need to recruit accordingly.

Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Higgins has done absolutely nothing except to help set up Hill's goal after Butler won a free kick.

Butler also made a couple of great tackles and set up what should have been a goal from King, but he missed.

Gresham came to life in the last 10 mins of the second quarter.

Half time disposal count:
Windhager 3
Phillipou 3
Caminiti 3
Owens 4

I’m glad that they are getting a taste of finals . They’ll work harder during the pre season knowing what it takes.

Most disappointing are the kids. We know what to expect from the older guys, but was hoping we’d get more joy from Mitchito, Phillipou, NWM et al.

All the youngsters were clearly a bit overwhelmed for much of the first half.

NWM, Phillipou and Owens were looking a bit livelier towards the end of the second quarter. Let's see how they all go in the third.
