Our top 30

Post: # 2033876Post nostalgicsaint »

Many believe the top 30 players on the list win you flags.

So assuming the trades where players have nominated get done how does our top 30 look?

Webster. Howard. Wilkie
Milera. Battle. Sinclair.
Henry. Steele. Wood.
Hill. Cammaniti. Owens.
Higgins. King. Butler.

Marshall
Crouch
Dow

Bench from
Billings, Clark, Windy, Pou, Jones, Byrnes, Ross, Hayes, Stocker, Sharman, Paton, Membrey, Cordy, Campbell.

Still fades away after about player 25. Hopefully we pick up another 2 top 30 players before the draft, some of our younger talent like Heath and hotton elevate and we land a good pick with #12

I expect Hotton and Heath to move into that top 30 in 2024.

You don't think Jones is in the top 30 players?
When fit, he's starting on ball.
Also, when fit, Membrey is in the starting 18 in place of Caminiti.
Hayes is a given also. We can't persist with pinch hitting Owens in the ruck.

Drops away around the 10 to 12 mark when compared to players you could have found a spot for in one of the GF teams.

Our forward line is possible as big of a concern as is our midfield especially now it looks like Members won’t be coming back.

Midfield also needs support for RoMa and backline needs a Key Back.

We are well short of a list that can contend just at the moment, possibly need at least 2 to 3 more years of success recruiting and development.

Interesting as I couldn’t find a spot for Ginnivan Lipinski Frampton in that 30.

I could find a spot for Lipstick, the other two not so much but that’s not unusual because most flag sides have 4 to 6 players who are “role players” only.

Agree none are better than C grade AFL players, so you don't need to be a gun to be an AFL premiership player.

Ginnivan is 20 and has played nearly 50 games.
Average now, probably has some upside.

Frampton is key position back up, nothing more.
He must have been licking his chops when McStay went down.

Lipinski is a solid C grade player.
Better than Dow, Stocker, Byrnes, Paton every day of the week.

Agree, I'd have Lipstick over all of those too, he had fairly interrupted season with the shoulder and had injury issues last year also but when he's up and about he's capable of A grade midfield performances.

Lipinski is complete garbage as soft an AFL footballer you’ll see. Much rather Stocker and Dow

Pies looking to get Sgt Schultz to replace Lipinsky and/or Ginnivan. Both poor in the GF.
Dow a big step up from those.

Don’t agree.

What has Dow done in 5 seasons to suggest he’s any better than a very good VFL player.

Lipinski is a solid C grader who played in the GF, Dow hasn’t proven he is worthy of a regular game and wasn’t picked for finals in a weaker team than Collingwood.

I hope Dow kills it with us, but is he anything more than a slight upgrade on Bytel?

He’s got some work to do to be starting 23.

Lipinski was pushed out to a HFF a lot this year.

Go back and have a look at his season last year.

I'd love to have him on our list.

Slow burn, Carlton coaches were unable to develop him and his confidence. Jack Bytel just didn't ignite.
Agree to disagree?
BTW Carlton are not much weaker than Pies, certainly not coached as well.
