Changes for next week
Out: Wood out and Henry possibly injured
In: Crouch, Collard (unless some of our other injured players are fit).

Re: Changes for next week
I wouldn’t be sure Henry will be out.
Whatever is wrong with him, neither he nor the coaching staff were visibly concerned about it. Might be fairly minor. Fingers crossed.

Will wait for the practice match today.
Amazing we all thought we had a heap of half backs and now we a desperate for a defensive half back.

Re: Changes for next week
So we're set to miss Wood, King and Henry from yesterday's team. All three are going to be difficult to replace.
Perhaps Butler for Henry, Crouch for Wood (with Byrnes going on the wing and Crouch into the centre) and Caminiti for King. Another option might be to try replacing Wood with Schoenmaker, who is tearing it up for the Zebras as I write. But I'm not sure that he's that suited to playing on the wing, whereas Byrnes went well in the role last night. Another idea would be Cordy up forward, and Schoenmaker coming in down back. But Cordy has gone well as a back in the first two games.
It's all very frustrating. Another injury-plagued start to the season, with a couple of suspensions thrown in as well.

Re: Changes for next week
It’s all about the match ups.
Cordy is useless as a forward. Most likely he will get 2 metre Pete.
Butler and Garcia to come in for Henry and Wood.
I fully expect the tribunal to throw out Christian’s suspension. The man is a misfit and a fool.

Re: Changes for next week
Assuming King's suspension stands
Out King, Henry, Wood
In Caminiti Butler Garcia (sub)
Schoenmaker is a half back and that's not what we need
Crouch looked to be struggling with his knee issue
In the VFL today Collard didn't touch it. Neither did Hotton, who was the invisible man in the midfield
Keeler isn't ready. McLennan played well but no place for him in the AFL team.

We're better off with Campbell instead of Caminiti.
Whilst Campbell is no Ryder, Caminiti is further from King than Campbell is from Ryder...And Marshall is a good target inside 50. Will also save Owens from two ruckmen that are infinitely better than the Collingwood pair.

Re: Changes for next week
My stab at like-for-like. Caminiti for King, Butler for Henry, Scheonmaker for Wood.
Admittedly have seen only highlights of Scheonmaker, but I like what I’ve seen. He’s coming off a BOG for Sandy, is a good size, aerially strong and a thumping kick. Sounds like a winger.
Don’t know whether Crouch is fit so I haven’t considered him.
The ruck situation is also interesting. Goldstein and Draper warrant some respect, so I hope we’re not asking too much of Marshall.

Those fools are wrecking Draper’s career by recruiting Goldstein.

Re: Changes for next week
I expect Lyon will do what he did last year and again in 2024 and place his trust in youth.
Arie Schoenmaker, after a BOG performance in the reserves yesterday (139 fantasy points from 34 dispsals and 13 marks) is not just knocking on the door to get selected, he's smashing it down! Only 19 but at 194 cm and 91 kg this kid already has the body of a mature aged player e.g.Cordy: 195cm 92kg.
Assuming Max King succeeds in having his suspension reduced to a fine I expect the following changes for the game against the Bombers next Saturday:
Out: Wood, Henry
In: Schoenmaker, Butler
I'm not nominating field positions because Lyon showed on Thursday night that the game plan involves switching players at various stages during the game. For example, he had Steele, Ross, Phillipou, Windhager, Jones, Hill, Owens, Byrnes, Henry, Wilson, Stocker and Bonner rotating through the midfield and wings.

Re: Changes for next week
Really can’t see a successful appeal on king
Very upsetting re Henry. These 5 day breaks are rubbish
Reckon butler and Garcia are in. Not sure who the 3rd will be

Re: Changes for next week
Agree with your inclusions.
If Schoenmaker keeps showing progress I'd be giving him his debut game in Round 6 against the Dogs. It's at Marvel
Round 4 is gather Round in Adelaide where we play Richmond and Round 5 we play GWS at Manuka oval
I think he takes Bonner's place...plus Jimmy Webster returns to the side shortly afterwards.

Re: Changes for next week
Really? I thought Goldstein and Draper weren't much of a factor. Also reckon it plays to our advantage if Essendon go with two rucks at Marvel. Sydney cut them up coming off half back and we've been playing the same way. Two rucks will be a liability against us on such a fast deck.
