As the article in ALF.com says,
“So here’s to the humble half-forwards, for it’s time they got their adulation.”

Now let’s all genuflect to the memorable past deeds when playing for the Saints, of our much loved traded JB, then move on!!

How about the sub.
Have to wear different kit.
No idea when the next wicket will fall, when to pad up, fit a box (metaphorically);
No idea what role, what opponent;
Expected to make immediate and significant impact even if team mates are unaware you are activated and it's OK to kick or hand pass to you.
A lonely unappreciated role. With the comfort of knowing you will most likely be playing VFL next week, or even tomorrow.
No, not glamorous.

Do you disagree?

Perhaps a footy related argument???

HF is clearly the hardest position to be dominant every week. If you know footy, you know why.

Now guess the easiest position to play?

The whole sub idea is stupid

It’ll be canned again in the next few years - it’s unnecessary

Zero goals
14 disposals
7 kicks
7 Hand balls
3 marks
1 tackle
1 goal assist
0 clearances
73% ToG

And those stats are mostly below his season averages

My biggest criticism of Jack was he is firmly planted in the bruise free category. Doesn't like the tough stuff or goes missing when the game is in the line (see bruise fee criticism).

Ironically he has a chance to player in a grand final if Melbourne can stay healthy as their list is capable but Jack is clearly in their bottom 2 to 4 players.

Is suited to a list that needs a bottom 2 to 4, not a list that barely has a top to 2 to 4.

On stats alone doesn't seem to

The AFL does not have stupid ideas.
They can be categorised as "before their time", "players finding it hard to adjust", "teething problems", "being subverted by coaches", "difficult for fans to accept", " umpires need more time to absorb the new rules", but never stupid.
And will only change over the Operations Manager's dead body or when that manager leaves to work for a betting agency.
They are introduced after consultation with the clubs, players association and commission members; unfortunately those bodies rarely recognise genius and need to be treated with distain, although their input is welcomed and ticked off prior to being ignored.

I get it for a concussion, and that was the original intent.
But not for any other injury. If a player has some tightness in a muscle, they can go and stand in the forward line, or players can play with some broken bones...But players are not permitted to play with concussion.
It's rarely the concussed players fault that they are concussed and can't play...even if they feel OK.
Go back to the original intent, and allow unlimited subs for concussion...BUT...once a team has used a sub, the other team is allowed to use theirs for any reason...otherwise it becomes an unfair advantage...especially later in the game.

Injuries are a part of footy - and games

Not sure why Concussion is any different

What if you have 2 concussions or 3 concussions

Should we have 2 or 3 subs

Concussion is the only injury where we have a rule that prevents a player from returning to the field.
Yes...We should have unlimited subs for concussions.

I've seen players with broken bones, strains, corkies, punctured lungs, knee ligament issues all play on after the injury. Those injuries become a choice. There is no choice for concussion.
