Discussion thread Votes v Tiges

Post: # 2050754Post Scollop »

Steele was immense again today

He's found his All Australian form

Had 12 kicks and 21 handballs

Sincs had 19 kicks and 10 handballs.

Who do you reckon had more metres gained?

Not only that, but he's a tackling machine. It takes awesome desire and awesome effort. Battle - zero tackles and zero contested marks.

Props to Cordy and Bonner for their best games with the club, particularly Bonner who was much more composed this week and responded well.
Important moments from Wilson, Marshall and Bonner. Great to see

3. Nasiah Wanganeen- Milera. Made one blue, but otherwise great .
2 in the space of a few minutes. With the game in the balance was enough to drop him out of my top 5.
Agreed again. Hill and NWM turned it over uncharacteristically today

Sorry about the clunky nature of the thread.

Just following through on what I promised for Sainter_Dad.

We just need to keep the Votes thread clear of too much discussion and eliminate any quoting of votes.

I apologise for comment rather than vote on the vote thread

Honourable mentions: Bonner, Wilson, Hill, Cordy, Stocker, Sinclair

A lot of players made important contributions this week. King, Butler and Owens all did some crucial things too.

NWM made more than one error. It was an unusually bad week for him.
Good call on Seb Ross. Steele, Marshall and Seb were tireless with their defensive effort and tackling

I was very angry in the first half. Pretty frustrating match to watch live.

I'll watch the replay and revisit this thread.

I had Cordy in my top 5 until Wilkie’s superb last quarter just squeezed him out. Cordy was good all day.

Butler didn't do much for the day. The footy spent a fair bit of time in our forward line.

I saw his possession stats for the third quarter. 3 touches. 3 turnovers

In the last quarter he had 1 handball.

Curious why MB and one other had pou in their votes? Still doing nothing for mine. Picks wrong options, ( last quarter missing Members standing in goal square in his own a classic example)

His kicking and handpassing rarely creative. In fact appears to have lost penetration in his kicking and his one wood, his high marking, is non existent. His speed, or lack of it, is a real concern as well. ’m certain if he was drafted in the 40’s he wouldn’t be getting a game. it’s almost we’re willing him to become something. Yesterday he had 16 possessions, 1 mark, 0 goals, 6 tackles (tick) but hardly vote worthy material I would have thought

Game high 25 pressure acts tied with Steele.

I don't disagree necessarily - hard to shake the feeling we're giving him games in the hope of keeping him around (noting he's the only top 12 draftee from his year not to re-sign), but thought he had a more positive day than other recent games. Kicks > handball ratio higher than usual which is a plus

A discussion thread about the votes, doesn't seem too useful without the votes.

The reason for a seperate thread is to help with Sainter_Dad's system and method for collating everyones votes.

He uses a software program and the algorithm gets messed up and means he needs to manually fix things. If you quote someone and quote their votes in the Votes Thread the algorithm counts them twice.

You can quote people's votes here in this thread. Copy the post from the other thread.

He goes to the trouble of creating the award and putting in the time so let's make it as easy as possible for him

AFLCA votes for our game

10 Shai Bolton (RICH)
7 Jack Steele (STK)
4 Dustin Martin (RICH)
3 Jack Sinclair (STK)
2 Josh Battle (STK)
2 Bradley Hill (STK)
1 Tim Taranto (RICH)
1 Callum Wilkie (STK)

Both coaches thought Steele deserved votes

Yze gave Dusty 4. Ross gave him doughnuts.

It should be easy enough to get it to ignore anything between [ quote] and [/ quote]

Yeah - until someone quotes another person's votes and says +1

No problems - who wants to do it in my stead.

Oh and pay the $150.00 each year for the trophy and the $500 for the Cup at Moorabbin - any takers??
