Maybe I missed it, but is there a translation of what Euro-Yroke means?

"St Kilda was known to the Yalukut Willam as Euro-Yroke or the grinding stone place where they sharpened their stone axes. These axes sharpened on St Kilda foreshore, were an essential tool used by Yalukut Willam men for cutting bark from trees for housing, canoes, shields and containers.

As an indigenous person

I’d be filthy if we changed our name

Point was, we are happy for it to be changed for the publicity

But really it’s on a token gesture

Funny it's not on the club website isn't it lol , but those on here who were involved with keep the Saints at Moorabbin like Bruce Eva , Scott Goodings etc I'm sure would be able to shine more light on it then I can .But to repeat myself and I don't care the reason but WE SHOULD NEVER CHANGE OUR NAME WITH OUT A VOTE OF THE MEMBERSHIP
Sebastian that was a test, I knew it wasn't on the club website and so do a cohort of other members that know it isn't on the website or in any other accessible place. The AFL and the club's are very secretive when it comes to club constitutions post AFL corporatisation.

So expanding on what the cub can and can't do without a members vote, when was the last time you voted on a guernsey colour/design change? Once upon a time this also required a members vote.

Essentially the corporations Act overrides the majority of the constitution and all power for all decisions rests with the directors of the club and AFL these days.

Said cohort has tried to obtain a copy of the constitution as amended as a result of the agreement by the board to sign over full control of the club to the AFL directors as part of the "assisted club" agreements during the pandemic.

Your vote is tokenistic these days I'm afraid and your membership is akin to a Netflix or Kayo account.

Do you remember or recall the difference between "assisted" and non assisted clubs as a result of forced agreements during the Pandemic.

They had a decent life you moron. You think without the British Monarchy that their lives were empty? They were here for 50,000 years before the first fleet arrived.

That's a 50,000 year continuous connection with their homes and their land and this country. They led a rich life. They were connected by family and community and their clans and their art and spirituality. Get a brain you fkn idiot

Obviously you get your views from that balanced network Sky News (which doesn't care too much for the truth in anything) and the trusted voices of people with integrity like Jacinta Price.

I remember Richo pointing out some positives when St Kilda got pumped by 10 goals or more...'if you park aside the first three quarters'....

If you park aside the epidemics and diseases that the British brought with them...

if you park aside the guns...and the frontier wars with systematic murder and the slaughter of communities to disposses their lands...yeah sure

if you park aside the genocide and persecution and the slavery and stolen generation....yeah sure, colonialism was positive for indigenous people of Australia

Why would you use a stone axe instead of a chain saw ?

Australian history did not begin in 1788
History requires a written record.
Written records are reliable, verbal records are unreliable as every child learns when they play pass the message at kiddies birthday parties.
Before written records is known as pre historic.

Can you point to anything written in Australia prior to 1788.

And there here is. Saintsational’s number 1 ticket holder in the Bigots Club pops his racist head up to say hello

The history of Australia is buried in the earth and it appears in the caves.

Where do you think the origins of writing began bigot?

Did it begin in the British King’s castle in medieval times or did it originate from symbols and pictures that date back 10’s of thousands of years?

You can’t help yourself, can you racist?

Radiocarbon dating, or carbon-14 dating, is a scientific method that can accurately determine the age of organic materials as old as approximately 60,000 years.

They burned people when those people spoke the truth of our solar system and the shape of our planet

Conservatives hate science because science speaks the truth

Haven’t most countries been invaded at some point or another?

It was inevitable

The truth is we weren’t (237 years ago) advanced enough to defend ourselves

And the country was colonised by the British

If it weren’t the britons it would have been another country

Now that’s a different topic altogether.

The modern racist will tell you that colonialism was good for them because they did not live happy or complete lives…when the complete opposite is the truth!!

They lived fulfilled lives and they had laws, ceremonial traditions, languages, knowledge and customs of survival and social rules and kinship obligations. They had abundant food on the land and in the water. They had art, culture, ceremony and they buried or cremated their dead.

Bigot#1 and Bigot#2 are saying that the indigenous inhabitants of Australia were savages (I mean that’s really the basis of their colonial ancestors brutality). They didn’t own a house they’ll tell you. They didn’t write books of history. They weren’t civilised.

Do you live in the ‘lucky country’ due to colonisation/invasion?

Not having a go, but a lot of whites who advocate for First Nations people, their very existence here in Australia is due to the country being discovered by Europeans

Clearly, if it didn’t happen in 1788 it would’ve happened at some point in the following 50 years - a land mass as big as Australia wouldn’t have remained unexplored and left alone.

Being the product of White and Black ancestors I am very cognisant of the way us aboriginal people were treated for a couple of centuries but also understand colonialism was always going to happen - lucky for me it brought my great grandparents together.

Historically in the world there have been atrocities of war and invasion. Doesn’t make it right, but it happens.

Right now Russia is invading Ukraine and there is obviously Israel and Palestine continuing to be in conflict.

As sad and terrible as it was for us for a good 150+ years
Those troubles were committed by past generations.

I don’t hold current white people responsible for the actions of previous generations

Now we need to identify as one people and one country
