Encyclopedia on Saints Central

Post: # 546251Post B W and R all over »

Just had a look on Saints Central and I see that they have got the Saints Encyclopedia site up and running. It’s a better history site than anything I've seen at any other club, and I reckon it’s the sort of unique material we were promised on Saints Central in the first place.

Apparently they are still in the process of up-loading pix of even the most obscure players so we can expect to see the dial of Enrico Misso sometime soon!

It will be worth it !! :D :D

(I'll ignore the "obscure" reference).

http://www.blueseum.org/ is actually a fantastic site, aside from it being carlton based. User submitted articles in a wiki format. I tried about 6 months ago to push for something similar for the saints, but not enough initial interest was gathered.

Brilliant!

I typed in "dog" under keyword search and it found Doug Booth!
Ex-East Brighton ruckman. A strong footballer who was mainly remembered for lashing out with his boot at a stray dog that wandered onto the field during a game.

Win it for HIM!

Careful what you say Les.

I can categorically say it was accidental and low level contact (just under the stomach).

Saintbrat,

that was the Herald-Sun front page the day Timmy resigned as coach.

I kept it and scanned it.
The coach always gets the blame !

I actually think Watson was pretty astute tactically, but his tactics were too complicated, too hard for the players to follow.
Still at least he put his hat in the ring and had a go.
Which is more than you can say for Garry Lyon and Dermitt.

I was hoping an early plea might let me off. :D :D

But you are right.
It was a trivial spur of the moment thing that for some unknown reason has become a "legendary" incident.
It has never been clear if it was a genuine attempt or just a playful attempt to kick.
Totally overblown.
Even heard someone suggest it might be a Toyota moment !!!

Sounds a bit like Dean Bailey   Trying to re-invent the game with his unplayable tactics.
