Post: # 571229Post BigMart »

not sure we are gonna win anyway......but about time the list was put on NOTICE!!!!

Average efforts are not acceptable, and safe, boring, easy selections do not advance anyone....

And DO NOT bring back underdone players in a fit of panic to save your ass Ross.....it worked last week with Max.....but it will backfire (Maguire, :x )

Bakes does not even deserve a game if fit.....he needs to find some footy....has had his pants pulled down this season, and has not got near it...

BTW Casey are first......because the players are HUNGRY

OUTS: Ins":
Gram...............Fiora (HBF) (whilst X is out, Fizz's last chance)
C.Gardner........Ferguson (FP) (better form, more versitile)
Schneider.........McQualter (NT/HFF) (more defensive pressure up fwd)
Dempster.........Geary (BP) (more attacking)
Gehrig..............Jones (INT/HFF) (tall for small to address pace issues)
R.Clarke..........ALLEN (CHF)(until Roo is ready)

And NONE of the dropped 6 as emergancies....harden up on them!!!!

LOTS OF PLAYER THERE ON THEIR LAST LEGS......they will put in 100% or thats it!

B: S.FISHER - HUDGHTON - GEARY
HB: GODDARD - BLAKE - FIORA
C: DAL SANTO - HAYES - HARVEY
HF: BIRSS - ALLEN - McQUALTER
F: FERGUSON - KOSI - MILNE
FOLL: GARDINER - BALL - MONTAGNA
INT: KING - ARMO - JONES - L.FISHER
EMERG: McEVOY - GWILT - STEVEN

I would be SAVAGE on the the piss poor players that were carried last week.....an omission would do them the world of good......

this team might not win, but it would have a CRACK....and who knows from there....bit like the NAB cup...hunger breeds success

May I ask you - WTF did Schneider do last week to Justify his place in the team......

He was the Worst player on the ground last week by a mile (way ahead of Raph/Frase).....and how he could even look at Hayes, Harvey, Ball after an effort like that I would be amazed....he watched his HBF have shots at goal.....I would have more respect for him if he actually went to Ross and asked to be dropped for punishment......but he is from Sydney, so he will get a game though

Schneider's effort last week would have been Gram's best of the year.

Great post, it's time to stop the out R.Clarke in Birss type team changes.

Light a fire under lazy front runners.

Still can't believe Gram was signed up so soon, if his current form continues his career should be in jeopardy.

Ba ha ha ha hah

Drop C Gardiner for Ferguson.

Ferguson is a dud and has done nothing in 4-5 years. new coach and still can't crack a game. Kicked 7 goals in one game, big deal.

I would take C Gardiner any day.

With confidence Charlie could become a very good lead up target in my opinion don't think Ferg could

The following players should never be picked again

Raph Clarke - Simply not up to it, makes to many dumb decisions

Milney - Played 100 games to many. Kicks around corners , hardly ever hits a target, makes to many dumb decisions. Should be playing with Casey

Fiora - Sleeps with the light on

Birss - Skillful but simply too slow

These players should be given as much time as some of the overated players above

Jones - Simply has to play forward as his pace and aggression is whats sadly missing

Ferguson - Never given time

Howard - Drafted because of his pace and skill, not been given a chance

McEvoy - Is ready, sorry Rixy, but the kid deserve a chance if King or Gardiner are injured again this season.

Charlie Gardner can plat ONE position......opposition coaches know that...and he makes there planning easy....charlie/frase/milne/Kosi made our fwd line so predictable it was a JOKE!

Questions - Has Ferg been injured in the last 4-5 years?....is he finally injury free?......is he in good form?.......Can he play? not sure - lets find out.........

Same with a heap of others....once and for all....

Don't think we would stand any chance with that line up.

I think Fiora should get another go, but not in defence. He was played at half back at Richmond and struggled badly. He was played in defence early this year as well and had very similar results. If he's in the team, play him as a relief midfielder for Joey/Dal/Harvs.

Gram surely can't keep his spot with his current form and I'd be tempted to give Howard a go. He's got the pace and seems to have improved his footy smarts a bit. If nothing else he can stick right on to a Brisbane crumber and try to run it up the wings after kick ins. However Gram may get another chance to redeem himself against his old club.

I wasn't at the game, but it seemed that Schneider was played at half back against Collingwood. While he didn't have a big impact, he wasn't horrible either. Not even close to being dropped.

Gardiner has done nothign against quality opposition. Might as well give Ferguson one last crack.

McQualter will probably get a gig soon since he's been elevated, but must not be played as a tagger. That is what destroyed him in the first place. Not sure if you'd want Birss, L.Fisher and McQualter in the same team though.

Predicted changes
OUT: Gehrig, R.Clarke
IN: Allen, Baker

Preferred changes
OUT: Gehrig, R.Clarke, C.Gardiner
IN: Allen, Geary, Fiora/Ferguson

If Charlie Gardiner gets the ball at 50m and stupidly looks for another option in the pocket like a Milne or a Harvey or a Ball just one more time he's gotta go the way the Cats sent him. He's a goal kicking forward apparently. Get the ball, go back, kick a goal. No else in similar roles at other clubs seem to have too many problems with that. What is it? Can he not kick that far?

Agree Mart.

Some players need a massive kick up the backside, and im talking in particular about Jason Gram.

I would make all those changes, apart from maybe Gardiner and Schneider.

Gram - Fiora
Raph - Geary
Gehrig - Allen
Dempster - Ferguson

Fisher - Hudghton - Fisher
Geary - Blake - Goddard
Schneider - Hayes - Montagna
Birss - Allen - Ball
Milne - Kosi - Ferguson

M Gardiner - Ball - Dal Santo
King - C Gardiner - Armitage - Harvey

EMG: McEvoy - Steven - McQualter

So people don't think Gram was working his way back into form last friday nite with his dash and long kicks inside 50 and that nice long range goal.

I thought he was coming back into form guess it was just me who thought that.

Fiora's best patch at Richmond coincided with his move to HB in 2004 after being dropped for a long while.....he averaged over 20 a game, and played as an attacking HBF (not good in defence though, neither is Jason btw)...Fiora is better overhead than most think.....

I would play Mini as a small fwd....he is a neat little player, he knows where the goals are.....and applies good defensive pressure around the ball....

Schneider played HFF/Wing.....He was disgraceful!

L.Fisher/Birss/Dempster all played in the one team last week......had 26 disposals between them...

If we make TWO changes only this week - Ross Lyon is a weak pussy...
the following week I would drop him!

Not a bad lineup - like CG at FF but what about this week against the lions without Roo and I worry about Kosi's fragile brain up against John Brown's brawn.

You gotta keep Max and Sam in those key defensives don't ya?

Like this idea, agree on all the dropped players, and all but one coming in.

How can you advocate Fiora coming in with his effort last week?
The same reason you drop Gram and Schneider, you reward Fiora for. He was not desperate enough last week, just strolled around.

I know you don't like Howard, but IMO he deserves a go before Fiora, I agree Fiora has more talent, but Howard had a crack last week and showed a bit for mine.

The concept excites me personally, even if they got done by 8 goals, the point has been made.

Fiora doesn't deserve a game based on form, and Gram should be put on notice at least. Perhaps bring Gwilt in as a defensive option and free S. Fisher up for the drive from the backline.

Agree with the rest.

Before clicking the thread I thought you wanted to drop Leigh Fisher. He's gotta be on thin ice too though.

Thought Gram's game against the Pies showed hope he's turning the corner. Got the ball and didn't panic and bomb away, and was a good linkup running option. I'm looking for him to back that up, not to punish him for it.

In fact, I honestly think that the aftermath of the Pies game is not the time to be punishing players for poor efforts, though it may be a good time to reward a couple of players from Casey for good form, especially with the exit of Gehrig and possible injury to Ball.

I wouldn't be surprised if the aftermath of the Brisbane game offers an opportunity for punishing poor efforts if that's what we're after, but I honestly don't think the problem is that they're in cruise mode where a kick in the butt would teach a lesson, it's that they're short on confidence, which would be exacerbated... but a pound of flesh is a good way of sending a message to supporters that more is expected.
