phantom draft in the paper today

Post: # 675403Post big_mac_evoy5 »

they are showing the first two rounds and if it goes in the order they are predicting there is one massive stuff up.

our pick:
sam blease

these are the names after him i nthe first two rounds:
steele sidebottom
tom lynch
shaun mckernan

i am not to big on blease over sidebottom because players like sidebottom are hard to find and i think if he is avaliable we should take him. the other two are good first round talls if we are going for that but i think they are going for a midfielder first up

thoughts.

order of first round:
jack watts - melbourne
nick naitaui-west coast
stephen hill-fremantle
daniel rich- power
michael hurley-essendon
chris yarren-carlton
jack ziebell -lions
tyrone vickery-richmond
hamish hartlett-kangaroos
tom swift-pies
lewis johnston-swans
sam blease-saints
ayce cordy-dogs
steele sidebottom-cats
phil davis-hawthorn

I'd be dissapointed if we let Steele Sidebottom go if he's available!

I think you guys only know of Sidebottom because he kicked 10 goals in the TAC Cup GF. Blease is a good player.

And Sidebottom isn't?
Sidebottom has always been touted as a 1st round pick. Yes, he had a good GF, all the better reason to go for him IMO. Big game form!

He defiently has some talent as well as some pace, the only thing is that i heard that he might take a while to develop into AFL footy, which might be a problem considering we might only have a chance at the flag in the next year or two.

My order of preference for our 1st round pick if available, would be-
1. Jack Ziebell. Vic . 188cm Mid.
2. Tom Swift. W.A. 191cm Mid.
3. Chris Yarran. W.A. 180cm Mid/ Fwd
4. Mike Hurley Vic. 192cm Def.
5. Jackson Trengove. V ic. 196cm Def/Fwd.
6. Steve Hill. W.A. 182cm Mid./def
7. Phil Davis. S.A. 192cm def,
8. Michael Walters. W.A. 177cm mid. (genuine rover).

They cant be all gone by pick 13 surely!

It would take a shift in the space-time warp field for Hurley to still be available at 13. If he was however and we didnt get him, Id personally lead the lynch mob to Moorabbin

I know we need speed but 191cm kids who have made a career from defence dont grow on trees. In the Teal Cup Final this kid was just as impressive as any of the Big 3.

Absolute gun who'd get a game from Round 1.

i dont think this will happen Freo are very keen on Hill and would love to snag him but theres a lot of pressure to pick Rich as many will see him as a sure thing and i think Freo want to scrap the tag as worst draft performer

Blease has a mediocre record in the TAC cup......can run and carry and kick, but wins little footy.....13 poss per game avg....only 20+ a few times......only 70KG

He could turn out another Fiora (also highly rated at 17 due to class)...IMO a big risk to take an under developed kid on potential....I would like a prove kid (blue chip) with our first pick.

Yup...and proven blue-chip kids are still available by the truckload at Pick 13

Who did you have in mind ?
