Hypothetical: if St Kilda don't make the 8 next year

I will blame Saintsational and the embracing of mediocrity.
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

It will be very tough next year. Big improvements are expected from the Blues and Tigers without too many teams in the 8 this year slipping. Despite thinking every year that the crows will fall they are pretty consistent, Geelong and Hawthorn without question will remain top 4.
The only sides who deem unlikely to pose a threat are Melbourne, West Coast and Essendon, and the latter will be competitive again within the next few years. You could probably slot Brisbane into the "unlikely" as well but footy is a strange game.
We have not had a breakthrough from a first rounder since Goddard and even he took some time. We are in desperate need of a few surprise packet first years, or else giant steps from the Armo's and Geary's.
I believe we still have the team to make the 8, whether they are strong enough to contend Hawks and Cats is another matter.

Destiny. It's in our hands.
Harder. Better. Faster. Stronger.
