Evened Out

How did it even out when they got 4 soft goals from frees.

Can someone please explain how when Milne is called to play on he can be mown down from behind ?

How often did the Cats throw the ball in a tackle and not get pinged ?

And in the last qtr Kosi had his arm pinned in the marking contest but got nothing.

Why cannot he be caught from behind?

How many times did they get a free kick, the umpire blows the whistle and everyone stops and then he calls advantage and they were off. They kept Geelong in the game not that I usually worry about the umpires but today they had too much influence on the game and were inconsistent to the max.

Just watching the fox replay and the 50 against CJ for touching Ablett was a joke. He didn't retard him and even the commentators said how lucky Ablett was and CJ unlucky. Leigh Matthews said Geelong need some luck to get a goal and there it was. Ablett even points the umpire to make it a 50 metre penalty.

Dawson was unlucky to give his free to Varcoe as he was committed and just collected Varcoe on the shoulder no intent or malice in it and on anormal day would probably have been in play and not paid.

Are you serious about the Varcoe one. It was free every day of the week.

Quelle Surprise! Inspector Clouseau has taken control of the computer!

Sniping is more important then being a Saints fan for a few morons - it's a power thing. The mods should have acted a long time ago but they are weak. It's a pity. A Saints fan site should be a relatively pleasant place to visit for all Saints fans. Alas, it has become a ping pong game between competing morons, a racist forum to attack true heros of the St Kilda FC and a body that rivals the Herald Sun " Post as long as you who agree with us fascists" feed back site, designed to viciously attack and defame those who we oppose or have opposed on the footy field, even if they are heroes of our great game.

Of all nights, when we are celebrating one of our greatest wins, I would have thought that this behaviour would have been modified. Alas, no. Too bad. We won! Go Saints!!

Great reply. Sorry if i want to know why he cannot get caught from behind. We win against the best side in the AFL and morons worry about the free kick count. You are the one not enjoying the win. It was a fantastic game and our best home and away win ever but why does that stop me or anyone else ask questions about frees. Again i am the one not whinging.

we got a couple of cheap frees as well , when players had taken the mark , cats players coming in late to spoil , so the player was paid a free instead of a mark! Overall at least 6 of there decisions were absolute shite.. Still we dont want to complain otherwise theyll start treating us like they did in the G.T. era when we got shafted every week

What i said was Dawson was committed, it did not effect the kick that Varcoe made, go back and look and see how many times it has been let go this year and previous years. The interpretation of the rule is up to the umpire not me or you.

One back, five strange advantages to go!

Get stuffed...never even vaguely close. What was it...holding the ball, tripping, push in the back, swearing at the umpire? Any one of these were equally as likely as whatever he was pinged for.

The Varcoe free kick wasn't there...at any stage...they were gifted a goal, at our expense. Was it considered a high tackle? A bump after the mark? What the hell was it supposed to be for? Give your mates at the AFL a buzz and let me know.

It was for a late head high hit. Just saw it again on the reply and it was correct 100%.

You're always going to get the short end of the stick sooner or later, it happens to all clubs. If you winge and complain you'll just give yourself an ulcer - move on, we won.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Well the kick had travelled about 10 metres before he was hit. That is very late.

I wasn't too upset with the umpires thought they were willing to let the play go most of the time but when they did pick one out they did not square up with one the other way hence the count. Had not seen gary jnr play for a while and was most dissappointed to see him playing for frees and sometimes getting them. The guy is a champion (not as good as Lenny though) and would be even better if he got that out of his game.

Have just watched the replay on Fox and I thought there were a few decisions that should have gone our way but didn't. I also thought there were a few that could have gone their way but didn't. For example, Sam Fisher was lucky not to be oinged for holding the ball with less than a minute to go.
On balance we had the shorter straw with the umps but nowhere near the way some posters on here are choosing to see it.
