His main issue has been set shot accuracy but also decision making. He used to attempt snaps on the run from the pockets when he was too close to the boundary. Thankfully Ratten has instructed him to play the percentages and not go for the impossible angles.
Lonie wins nearly all of his frees because opposition players aren’t used to tackling players who are 5 foot 6”...NOT because he’s done anything clever or outstanding. Yes ...he earns half of them because he is first to the footy, but you can’t carve out a career based on winning frees because you’re short
