there are always going to be teams who have their home ground at the grand final venue, unless we play it at homebush in the vein of wembley or the millennium stadium in the uk.
The trouble is the AFL schedules Melbourne based clubs to play other Melbourne based clubs at the MCG. Melbourne clubs host non-Melbourne clubs at Docklands, even if their 'home' ground is the MCG.

The rationale behind it all is simply dollars. An equitable and fair competition for all clubs is a distant second to maximising revenue.

Where did I say they should get the same number of games as a Melbourne team?

I just think it's a very bad look, Fremantle turning up at the home of football for a do-or-die final ... having not played at the venue even ONCE this season.
