Kosi. I'd like to see his 200th (and possibly last) game to be the "Fan Day" game in Round 22 v Gold Coast, unless injuries, form & fitness dictate otherwise.

FAN DAY is the day we have planned for the Etihad March, Circle the Dome thingy !!
ill be over for that game eastern as will most of the supporter group leaders from around the country ... if i can ill join in your Etihad march ...
Don't forget to bring your "WESTERN SAINTS" Banner with you. I'd love to see ALL the Country & Interstate groups represented that day, WITH THEIR BANNERS !!
will do Eastern ill even bring over a western saints stubby holder to keep your beer(after you have conned some poor fella into buying you one ) cool

Stanley and Hickey have to absolutely play and I can't see either of them being dropped. Now that Lee is in the forward line and Roo possibly coming back then Stanley has to go down back and continue to learn the caper. Stanley runs fast and straight and looks really good down back so I'd like to see him there.

Hickey is going to be a gun and he looks really good with the ball in his hands and I hope he really strings some games together and gets his confidence up. Looking forward to seeing him after a pre-season in the gym.

Kosi. Mate I love you (in a manly way of coarse) and you will get your 200th and good on you SW for not letting it happen in Perth. It shows SW is a really good coach and really cares about the history and bond that exists amongst the players. Kosi will fully understand that SW can't drop any players after the effort they put in over in Perth and will be more than happy to wait for his 200th.

Milney. No comment. I'm still not sure what to think about it all and really haven't spent much time trying to work it out either so it will be what it will be.

Just not this week.
Sooner or later Hickey or Macca will get injured or really need a rest. Play the Kos when that happens.

I think most of us feel it was smart to leave Milney out for a few weeks while things were hysterical - but now I think its cool if he comes back.

The "HYSTERIA" will be at fever pitch IF Milney plays this week. The Carlton fans are as BAD as Collingwood fans on the Milne issue, if not WORSE !!

Tricky isn't it? Although not a 'home' game, we are playing at our home ground, therefore a good opportunity to grant Kosi his 200th in front of the faithful. Unfortunately, form doesn't deserve it, but, being honest and reasonable, after all this time he deserves a send off match and this one is as good as any. However, unlike Burkey in 2003, Kosi hasn't retired, so this would not actually be a farewell game.

On Milney - well, this is very difficult. The club has been respectful of community attitudes, not to mention the parties involved, but we live in a country where people are innocent until proven guilty - the adversarial model of criminal law - this is a cornerstone of our national constitution. His form was good before the charges were laid and Saad could do with a spell, and Milney is better at this stage than Scarey Terry Milera, so he probably could and should come in.

As for the abuse he will inevitably cop - will the commentators give him the support they gave Jobe during and after the game at Subiaco? Bears close scrutiny.

Milne must play. Saad, Milera and TDL are rubbish.

Kosi no, not ever again.

Makes a lot of sense to keep them out until the Port game, but I've got a feeling that Milne will come into the side and Saad, Milera or TDL go out.

Maybe Stanley should be dropped for Rooy. On the other hand Rhys's speed and agility and height might be needed if Carlton bring in an extra tall. Also feel there could be a couple of other changes if some of our younger guys don't recover in time and if Stanley is fit and ready to play he stays in

Can't see how Kosi can come in for Stanley or Hickey, but he could replace Macca. Only Macca doesn't deserve to be dropped as he was serviceable against Freo wasn't he? I'd be spying on Carlton's training sessions and see if they are looking to change their team around. If the extra talls are named for the Blues on Thursday we should play Stanley and Hickey and Ben and Tommy Lee.

It's an away game. By definition, that means max 10K Saints fans in attendance, even at Jihad. So save Kosi for a home game send off!

+1

Save them both for a home game against slightly less opposition supporters (particularly for Milne's sake).

Goose is king wrote:I think get Kosi to his 200 this week then have him announce his retirement effective immediately.
Leave Hickey out or rest Ben if he has any sort of niggle.
Lee must stay. Mine should come back in for any of the other three smalls.
With Kosi's history with injury if you play him in the VFL this week he may never return
Roo obviously comes in and could replace any of the younger players who might be in need of a rest.
That is a good point..

If we don't get Kosi's 200 out of the way what if he injures himself in the VFL & never gets there?

We'd have to sign him up for another year.

Wouldn't that bring the house down haha..

Love The Koz.

I wish I had the skill of conveying my feelings/thoughts as well as i am able to speak them, but here goes nothing.

Kosi - no, not this week, not sure he would be a better selection then others as already mentioned.

Milne - no.
This is a hard one as most would agree. Without a shadow of a doubt he is intitled to the same right as any other - 'innocent until proven guilty' bearing this in mind it makes it hard for me to truely debate with myself how or why i feel it isnt approprite (im trying to find a word to use other then this one) for him to play. Yet, my reaction to this mind battle is no he should not. That leads me to question do I think he should play again while it is waiting to go before the courts? again my gut says no, but my mind and thoughts are still debating against one another! I just dont have a straight answer i guess. but i do lean to no 51%.
Ive said it once and I will say it again im glad this isnt my concern! Im just another supporter, another bum on the seat. My views or thoughts really mean nothing, they are just that - my own.

The way I see it, when this happened 9 years ago. We backed him & he played.

How's it any different now 9 years on?

It's gonna be a shitstorm. But like you say, I'm just another supporter, not my concern.

All I'm concerned about is seeing the little champ play out the end of his illustrious career I've enjoyed so much & support the bloke come Saturday night.

Difference is now, he has been charged.
The Blues are like rabid dogs against Milne, wrong week to play him IMO.
Kosi needs a home game.

Not the week for Kosi for all of the reasons mentioned above. As for Milney, incredibly tough. If one assumes that he is going to return at some point, then this week seems about as good a week as any. Bloody difficult though, and I worry about the tension between supporters of the respective clubs, passions will be running incredibly high.

Fair chance.

We need to remember that he's still young for a tall man. And hasn't played all that many games. But more significantly, he's gone into each of the last few seasons, including this one, wondering whether his hamstrings are going to hang together. Can be a bit hard to concentrate on improving aggression and other aspects of your game when there's that amount of uncertainty going through your mind.

Touch wood, but if Stanley's new found durability can last through to the end of the season it may just provide him and the club with something to really work with for 2014 and beyond.

As Trav has mentioned the club is more thinking along the lines of not playing Milne this week because of the Malthouse/Milne issue because the media might blow it all up out of proportion.
