Obviously went on SEN this morning off his own back (not club sanctioned) and what he said was not the club's position re his extension

What the hell is going on !!
Was he warned not to do that interview??
And who the hell is going to coach us. Draft in a few weeks and
Preseason training about to start. Looking forward to hearing the clubs explanation...it would want to be good

Man we look like a rabble ...
Absolutely St DAC.

Not because of the rumours, but the fact that the club consistantly denied he was being sacked, they allowed him (or did they) to go on SEN and say all was well and the president told him he wanted him to be a long term coach, and three hours later he is sacked.

If the guy needed to go so be it. I hold no allegience to Watter, but the lies being spoken for week have undermined any confidence I have in the veracity and integrity of this board.

Now we have proof that he is sacked, it shows the club is a joke when it comes to holding the confidence of its supporters.

They better friggen well have somebody lined up.

What a effing schmozzle. Led us up the garden path with their denials.

Would be suprised if I read the paper tomorrow and find out that Roo and Joey actually were traded during the trade period

We are a joke. I'm so sick of sticking up for us when we are getting hammered by other clubs supporters and journos. We are a laughing stock. I'm just going to nod my head in future. So sick of it.

If I was one of the players just traded to us after speaking to SW, I would be furious. Everyone could see it unfolding except us. If you questioned it, you got lambasted.

It's like finally giving up on one of your kids.

He couldn't jump on board and work with The Pelican so bye bye. Another Malthouse protege bites the dust...

Otherwise, yikes (timing wise at least).

But could it be he 'went rogue' on SEN this morning?
Must be the only thing....

Better have a replacement lined up immediately.

Settle down everyone, maybe Watters was ACTUALLY no good, they might have done the right thing but wanted to wait until after trade period to get them done.

He hasn't become a better or worse coach since the end of the season. No one, to my knowledge, that wasnt available 2 months ago is now available. So why now?

That's obvious. We needed to attract players in trade period.
Disagree.

Couldn't they have appointed someone before trade period, like most other clubs have. Actually how many coaches have been sacked in November.

Imagine if was pre trade period, no one would want to come ?

Never boring

Club needs to make a statement - IMMEDIATELY !
Just heard on SEN that SW requested the interview.

The club clearly knows better and more than we do. But on the face of it, this is very disappointing.

Can a month pass without us St Kilda supporters being riled by our mates about what is going on down at Seaford?

I've backed the club in every move they've made lately, but this one is very hard to swallow.

Obviously the ex pres spilled the beans, so why come out and hit back?

Why set him up to look stupid?

Lacks class, the whole undifnified mess.

He won't be missed, but the payout factor is significant.

Has SW done something untoward just recently?

If not why the fork was he on the media this morning.

Finey and Caro I'm sorry. You were right.

Let's move our administration to Luna Park.

If Watters is no good, he needed to go.

Not the point dragit, the lies and denials of the rumours for weeks has shown that the club just cant be trusted.

Now I have proof and FACTS, I am firmly in the belief that our club is a complete farce.

At least, as you say, they waited until the trade period was over, and probably was their strategy, still very dissapointing to have the coach on radio in the morning telling everyone how great everything is, and then a couple of hours later he is sacked.

Really really dissapointing from the club.

Only the gullible ones..... which is most of the supporter base when it comes down to it.

What a rabble.

Watters was never going to succeed. Glad he's gone. Couldn't stand him. Game plans were shyte and were constantly changed mid match.

Gary Ayres should have been given the job when they interviewed him. Great rapport with youngsters at Port Melbourne and we needed someone with experience after Ross Lyon departed.

Where's the coaching panel who hired Watters? Not one of them should be on the next panel.

Incompetence hiring incompetence.

I didn't hear this morning's interview... did he try make himself unsackable?

I'm going with the above... it's how we rolled in trade month, made the painful cut but had a plan and came out ahead.

We. Shall. See.

Ross Lyon legacy?

Silver spoon fed senior players.

This guy didn't and wouldn't.

No right or wrong method, but the guy after that kind of royal treatment of senior guys was going to find it tough.

Tail wags dog?
