The AFL also have to take into account/factor in blockbuster games, break periods, number of interstate travels (you won't travel twice in a short period if possible) as well as wher the teams finish on the ladder.

WB played the following teams twice :-

Us
NM
Coll
Geelong

Wow that really is the icing on the cake for the blessed run that they had only one top 6 team twice… considering they finished 7th, they might have missed the finals all together with a harder draw, this year will be interesting for them where they play sydney, north, brisbane, GWS & WCE twice.

This is why I don't think we should look too closely at emulating the dogs in building towards our own flag, as their flag was just a perfect storm rather than a repeatable blueprint.
