There was a lot of column space over the Buddy pick in particular, the Hawks even protested and put a submission to the AFL! It raised its head again when Melbourne got a gift for Frawley, a decision which didn't generate anywhere near enough outrage from clubs IMO. Yes, it is a sneaky pressie for the AFL's mates, I think its a stretch to link it to equalisation...remember the AFL's gift to Geelong's when Motlop left (pic 19 I think), helping them land Gaz?

Started really well this year then was completely ineffectual.

He started last year with bad shoulders and hasn't been able to tackle since, he also missed the entire preseason. I think he'll go some where and be a good player. He's no star but he's a solid Jack of all trades utility when fit. We don't really have spot for him with the kids we need to develop and the large amounts of similar level players we are looking to bring in.

I wouldn't be too concerned about whipping boys, Jones is a whipping boy at Sydney. He should fit in alright.
