Yeah cause Bytel is comparable to 750k Jack?????
Who's comparing paypackets?
We can't afford to carry players in a close contest.
Whose next Leo?????
Leaders , experienced players need to stand up in those moments throwing Bytel into that mix is just dumb

We gave it to them. We had them on the back foot and just gifted them the game with a cluster of despicable disposal errors. When we were completely on top of them. Zero goals from set shots today. What a surprise.

Connolly must play. One of the few reliable kicks in the team. For all the brave offers of Dunstan and Ross they still can't be relied on to make quick decisions and deliver the ball effectively

Saints had their chances, had the momentum going their way and then messed up it up badly when it counted.

I haven't seen any comments from Curly yet but am assuming he will go to town if he hasn't already on the umpiring. :(

Yeah, not sure how they missed that Butler throw late in the 3rd
Wasn’t being tackled Pendles and Bont do that every week. The Port one was actually one handed clear as day while tackled.

There was so much bad in that, on so many levels.

Port fielded their seconds team and still beat us. And still wanted it more. And still refused to yield. And still made sure they brought numbers to every contest. Their hunger and effort was just so much stronger than ours.

This week, we placed all of our eggs in the 'execution over effort' basket - that doesn't work for us. Because we don't execute. I'll say it again: we have to be an effort-based club with this list. It worked so well for us in the past three weeks; I have no idea why we reverted to type today. The Hollywood-ball stuff just doesn't work for us (what was with all those kicks direct to the opposition at key moments?) like it does for, say, Geelong and I don't think it ever will. We don't have the list our coaching staff think we have.

It seemed like our players just assumed we'd win. The sub-par efforts after quarter time were so noticeable. I couldn't believe what I was seeing at times.

Genuinely amazed we started favourites for that game.

We need playmakers with poise and kicking skills more than another lanky King ... who will become a player in 3 or 4 years time (that's all we hear about them).
In the meantime?

Interesting comparison between the 2 great mates Jack Billings and Jack Sinclair
I remember JB advised the Saints to pick Sinclair up in the rookie draft, which thankfully they did

JB - pick 4 in the National draft and on a very hefty salary and Sinclair picked up as a rookie. I think it's fair say that Sinclair has now become the better player.

As massive pat on the back to Sinclair but fair to say that JB has not at all lived up to expectations

I just did a quick thread count extracting the count from your posts
That would make it
93 - 1
our way

So throwing while not being tackled is ok..?

Of course, if you’re wearing a Saints jumper it’s ok according to Curley rules!

The recruiters should think about that.
Maybe JB should replace our recruiters?

Oh that’s right

Someone who is a good kick can coach others and make them a good kick too

Connolly is a nice kick

He had to be, he only had 4 for the game

The core at Richmond were mostly young blokes who grew together, gained experience and matured to the point where they became consistent

Same with the Dogs and West Coast and the Hawks before that

We aren't going to be a contender by bringing in mercenaries who have their tummies already full

We are still lacking a key defender, a key forward, a replement for Ryder, and quick midfielder with genuinely elite skills. Until these things are addressed we will not be flag contenders.

I agree with that - good sides will bring a couple in to supplement a team that is challenging, we have far too many of that type and a few of them have already climbed the mountain and so the hunger's not quite there

Like I said Pendles and Bont do the overheads every game. It’s allowed now apparently.
