Anyone suggesting we don’t need Bing down there is delusional
Membrey was a liability can only hold the mark in perfect delivery
What the **** was that kick by Butler in last when we had a totally open forward line????? Why didn’t King and come lead up give him an option??
Gutless
Membrey had a bad game and dropped a few, but otherwise that critique is unfair, takes marks he often shouldn't, and always makes a contest (which Max often fails to do)

Butlers kick was bad, but the forwards couldn't have made it any harder, Max so often runs behind his opponent like he's a small forward wanting it over the back.....lead up like a Reiwoldt and demand the ball!

I'm not going to point it out because you'll argue that it's not his job to tackle or harass or contest or do anything that is required of a bloke on big money.

And, he's apparently a leader

Why would Max King want front spot?

We have a bunch of individuals trying to pretend they're a team

They don't want to be selfless. They don't want to see their teammates succeed...

They don't care for each other.

Tim Membrey had a good opponent

One of the best defenders in the league and a perfect match up for him

16 possessions across HF

Not dominant but not missing

After pushed in the back or arms smashed every marking contest.

I believe they want him to stay close to goal for the under pressure release kick

My understanding is that they are not even worried about him marking it, his main job is bringing it to ground for the smalls

Ridiculous

In the meantime?
FFS King needs help
Membrey ain’t a second tall option he’s 3rd at best abs will struggle as he gets older
Marshall and Ryder aren’t there enough
We are killing his development
I thought King up ground last week, in the play looked good...IF we had another tall option back there we could leverage both ...
It’s pretty obvious ..

I thought we had a crack.
Port came in with a plan and performed it well. They deserved to win and wanted the win a bit more. Jack Steele and Roma are stars.
They did well. We would have rolled over to their intensity earlier in the year. Finals were always going to be a long shot.

We had them on toast in the last quarter, but 4 or so inexcusably poor kicks when the ball was in our hands and we were in control handed them the game.
Port were on the back foot in the last quarter - and on track to lose the game - until those poor kicks.

Leo Connelly has great poise, vision and beautiful kicking skills ... if he can get to 20 possessions per game (mind you he's only getting 60% game time), it'd equate to 30 possessions from just about anyone else.

He's played just 4 games, amazing.

Ratten was asked before the game....would they release King to roam a little further upfield (he looked good last week on the move here) abs he responded with “maybe later in his career right now we need him near the sticks”
It’s a worry as Membrey is not a tall forward chop out for him
Get Bing

We're all disappointed but the boys were pretty good today I thought - we're still not quite in the same league as the big boys but we've turned it around significantly since those big drubbings early in the year. We've found a few in Highmore, Byrnes and Connolly and heartening to see the improvement in McKenzie, Dunstan, Long, Wood and Sinclair.

We get Paton, Gresham and a few others back next year - recruit well at the draft and we'll be even better next year

He is a good kick

Takes more than being a good kick to be a league footballer though

Brandon White, Arryn Siposs and Brodie Murdoch were awesome kickers

He is young, he needs to develop

That's what they did with McCartin - and look how that turned out.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Kicking only half the equation- decision making under pressure the biggie ....hard to teach it abs I don’t think Siposs etc demonstrated anything great in this area
