The only thing with Moorabbin will be that there is nothing left there. The Whitten Oval still has most of the members stand side while we only have the members stand which will be torn down. Plus the surface at Moorabbin is worse than a suburban park and about a million percent below the Seaford surface. I can't see what's exciting about this.

Bulldogs for all that advantage ONLY made a profit because Gordon put in $1mil-- other wis they would have been $600.000 in the red

Blues members asking questions
Forced to deal with an onslaught from a handful of irate members at the club's annual general meeting, Carlton president Mark LoGiudice nevertheless remains upbeat about the Blues' future.
Addressing the Carlton faithful during an at-times heated AGM at Ikon Park on Tuesday night, LoGiudice and his board came under fire from several members, who questioned the club following a $2.7 million loss for 2015.
One member rose from his seat to interrupt LoGiudice mid-address, reeling off the details of the club's recent losses, and demanding a "frank and full explanation" of Carlton's finances.
"If this was a trading company, it would nearly be insolvent. We are in a position where the AFL has the right to ask for the keys," the man said. The Blues attempted to allay some of their supporters' concerns at a private members forum which followed the AGM. It's understood the most vocal critic left the forum reassured about the club's direction.

During the AGM LoGiudice vowed to return Carlton to surplus in 2016, detailing various reasons why the club had suffered through a year in which they claimed their fourth wooden spoon in 14 seasons.
"The club has been impacted by the unexpected downturn in our hospitality venues, net contribution, coupled with costs associated with restructuring the football and administration departments to position the Carlton football club for future growth," LoGiudice said.
"It is important to note, Carlton doesn't receive any special AFL funding and continues to pay equalisation tax which totals $250,000 in 2015. This will increase to $330,000 in 2016.

Remember being blown away by some of the Rugby League social clubs even 20 years ago. We can do so much more in this space to generate revenue AND add to the sense of belonging. I'd also love to see a front in St Kilda (pub or the like) that can be a central meeting place for games / after match functions to give us a presence in the suburb itself. I know that some would say you're better off not diversifying, however; I see this as key to our foothold In St Kilda.
Fair point. It needs to have a non pokies section also where games are shown on a big screen. Ideally in HD lol!
Would become a Karnak temple.

Donation sees Bulldogs post profit
WESTERN Bulldogs president Peter Gordon gifted the club $1 million from his own pocket as it posted a profit of $388,000 for the 2015 season.
Thought Gordon would be broke given the ambulance chasers are nearly insolvent?
He's also been gambling with the Bulldogs money. The insane deal for Boyd being a prime example.

don't know if the cats warnings would have led to this amount being thought of by Cats members

Stadium redevelopment costs push Cats to big financial loss

"No other club has the same issues around stadium costs, and in addition to this investment we continue to pay the City of Greater Geelong for leasing the venue and office space at the ground," Cook said.

If the president has any say in any club recruiting then that club is stuffed. I think you need to find another way to knock him.

$3.3 million? Wow!

That's gonna' take them... like, nearly four home games at Hillbilly Park to recoup.

Issues??? I wish we had their 'issues'! :(

That's still a pretty ugly balance sheet. We're technically insolvent and have been for several years.

The 10 Victorian-based AFL clubs managed to cut their debt levels but financial losses increased in 2015, and tougher trading conditions could impact their fiscal performances this year.
An analysis of the annual reports lodged by the 10 clubs showed them making a combined loss of just over $2 million last year from revenue of $501 million.
The revenue figure was flat compared to 2014, but large losses sustained by Carlton, Geelong and Essendon, pushed the overall result into negative territory, despite premier Hawthorn recording a $3.3 million net profit
.

Victorian clubs finances, 2015

CLUB REVENUE ($m) PROFIT/LOSS '14 profit/loss DEBT ($m)

Fellow strugglers Melbourne, Western Bulldogs and Norf average over $40 mil per annum so we're down almost 30% on those clubs alone.

It would be good to get a breakdown. Are we at least headed in the right direction?

But thats on the back of a wooden spoon year whereas Dogs were damn exciting that year and North finished top four. We should get a lot more full memberships this year after showing how exciting were were last year and hopefully bigger crowds.
