Cleary, Riley and today Damien Barratt all saying the following are fair deals :

Steven for a pick in the 50's.
Bruce for pick 32.
Hill for 6 straight up.

F*** off on all counts.
They must all have something against us...
it is a bit funny people ripping their hair out over fair worth and dealing with that terrible geelong
Its not geelong doing it to us - its not even the saints doing it to themselves this time

What’s happening with Biggy Nyuon? Any good? What do we need to keep in reserve for him?

All going down Hill.
Howard the club be feeling?
A little Gray!
Too much keeping up with the Jones for my liking, heck we even tried to recruit our own Butler.
Not many deals done yet, so we’re not a lone Ryder.

Noice. Don't know how the club.......Gallagher, Gubby, Lethlean et al are feeling, but I'm feeling decidedly impatient.

From a supporter's point of view it's frustrating. We have no say, no input, and no influence over this period. It's like riding a white-water raft through treacherous rapids while blindfolded, and you don't know if the guy at the front of the raft knows what he's doing.

It's probably best to turn off the phone, the TV, the laptop, the tablet and the radio and not pick up a newspaper until Thursday.

I could have spent all day listening to trade radio....glad I didn't . Hell... what am I even doing on here???!!!!

Am also reading Mitch Cleary saying that Port are very determined to get a first rounder for Howard. I guess they would say that. Who knows what the bottom lines are for each stakeholder? What's just smoke and mirrors and what is fact. Best to take cwrcyn's advice and just ignore it until Thursday morning. Bloody can't though. Addicted to things St.Kilda....

My Guess on how things could play out

Bruce to WB with pick 18 for pick 13 & 32 (makes him equivalent to around pick 24)

Port get pick 13 & 32 and send back Howard , Ryder and pick 29 & 66 ( equivalent points to 14/15)

Freo get pick 12 , next years first round pick and next years third rounder for Hill and next years 3rd round pick

Pick 29 to Sydney for Jones

Butler for 82 ( no value )

we end up with Hill, Jones, Howard, Ryder , Butler, freo pick 3rd round 2020

Retain picks 66, 76

Give up - 12,18,Bruce , Next year round 1 and 3

If Geelong will come to party with pick 36 for Steven and carry some salary great, if not he stays put and send message out Geelong didn't really want him as if they did would have been willing to pay for a 4 time B & F

Each to their own but been there done that. I stopped caring so much after 2011 and more so from 2016 for some reason.

It's not like the St FC have paid it back in spades.

I continue to support and I have 2 memberships but I have a limit in how much I emotionally invest in an outcome I have whatsoever no control over. Pointless.

Yep I thought about that outcome as well, but it's all contingent on the Dogs being willing to part with 13, which up until now, they have been staunchly resisting. Maybe they will, maybe they wont. If they don't, how else does it all unfold?

Yep. Such is life indeed. It's in the blood. Had a Saints jumper before I could walk. No matter how the game has changed, commercialism has taken over and I detest it, when the blokes run out in the RW&B I'm emotionally invested in it. Unable to switch it off. Hope and tribalism is what it represents.

Pretty sure I am right about this but, as always, happy to be corrected.

My understanding is that if we offer Freo next year's first round pick, that is all we can offer from next year.

We can't then offer second or third year future picks.

I think there is an AFL rule that stops us.

I was right about the rule change. In 2015 a rule was brought in to prevent clubs from getting themselves into future draft trouble.

Here is the rule: If a club trades a future first-round selection, it may not trade any other future selection from that same draft. But if a club keeps its future first-round selection, it can trade any of its future selections from other rounds.

Thanks for the detail mate. I overlooked that and on reflection, if the Dockers aren't willing to take 12 and next year's first they can get stuffed. That is already significantly over. 12 and next year's second maybe.

This churn keeps the AFL in the media headlines.

Exactly what it is designed to do given the AFL Competition is in recess,

Just look at the AFL site for confirmation.

What a monumental waste of time and effort.

And they talk about "productivity"
