I think any reasonable person would not jump to the skeptical conclusion, there have been countless stars on big money who have similar "accidents" yet because this type of thing happens to a Saints player it is somehow going to lead to some epic fail of some catastrophic proportion. It's such an immature response.

How many attempts at stumbling down the steps did it take to break his foot ?

That's one way to get out of pre-season training.
Now he can put his feet up.

Come on takeaway, it’s not exactly the greatest look from a star recruit, is it?

Also, these type of injuries always end up having their complications.

I’d buy the excuse if he was 60 but the bloke is 28. Give us a break.
I'm sure the fake news dept of the club would come up with a better reason for the injury than the one stated if they were asked to do a con job. I'm going to WA in 2 weeks, I'll check if his sister actually has steps, perhaps get some DNA, that should clear it up.

Like the story of how Hannebery resigned from the leadership group to reduce his workload and concentrate on himself without added pressure whilst he was injured...

If it’s one thing you should doubt it’s the fake news dept of our club

Ah, yes the fake leadership group exit story. Or was it fake? Hanners seemed fit when he came back, and played well. No good being in the leadership group when you are on an extended injury break. Perhaps the story was true?

I agree, if it's one thing you should doubt, it's the fake news dept ---- they tell the truth!!! Disgraceful.

I thought the same thing, a player of his calibre doesn't need to start flogging himself too early in the pre season. Roo hardly did a full pre season for nearly the last 10 years of his career.

Didn’t say it was fake... just that as a report it didn’t seem very believable hence it’s doubtful the club puts much thought into stuff like this

I'm just glad Hannebery is in the RW&B, his presence on and off the field improves our club. I don't care if drinks and takes drug or shags himself silly, drinking and taking drugs is a huge part of Australian culture, we do it bigger and prouder than most nations around the globe. Why do footy fans get so self righteous if a footballer is a normal participant in our favourite national pass time.

Having said that I'll be pissed off if he misses footy next year cause I'm a firm believer in responsible consumption of alcohol and drugs.

Only a broken foot can give a bright side to those ailments.
