People can under estimate our list to their peril.

Stats don’t support that

Backline superb
Mids pretty good

Opposition marks our kicks way too much i50
What forward line ?
With King Membrey and your mate Billings on HFF that Ratten had the luxury of???
I think your stats are useless comparing this lot to the makeshift version Lyon has playing well…

But this list will have him middling

Ratten got them to 11-11 and that’s about where they were 2022
Ratten had a lot of injuries last year. We were 8-3 prior to that.

You have to factor in Owens, Phillipou, Caminiti playing every game - it's a different look team and we have a fit Gresham. Then there's Wood and Hill playing on the wing (where they belong) and Byrnes improving, it's providing a lot more run.
We have plenty of endurance athletes - which suits the current game-style.
We are not King-focussed - our forward line is functioning a lot better.

We are better than middling, especially if everyone becomes available.
Lol we’ve got 17 on the injury list
No King Membrey Billings Steele abd “Ratts “ had a lot of injuries…
Wow 🤩

Did you see a 4-0 start to the year?
Bombers are up abd about smashing flag favs Demons ….we put them to the sword by 5 goals ….
I think you need to watch more footy and understand the impact a professionally coached side makes
Chalk and cheese to amateur hour under 1 trick Brett
Our system is making players look better than we are imo
Will we finish top 4 ? Nup
I’m not sure we’ll make the 8
But I’m confident next season this side will take another step forward cause they’ll be well drilled

Does it matter a fk if we don’t have the players!

I agree we are playing a good system, but even you think that won’t get us in the 8

Last year 11-11

This year I believe we will finish similarly

Why

Because we haven’t improved the list - plus injuries (like the second half of last season)

We will get better in coming years - due to improving kids

But unless we get a star or two drafted or recruited and developed -

We aren’t challenging

I don't think we won four on the trot with the injuries last year

Wood says Hi
Owens says Hi
Sincs says Hi
Ross says Hi
Hill says Hi
RTB says Hi

All improvements on last years versions.

But Otiman has a good point

By your reckoning

Ratten was poor - 11 wins with this list
Lyon is brilliant- therefore with this list should win a few more??

So we should (in your eyes) be a top 4 team?… or close to it

Remember- the coach has a major bearing on results!!!

No excuses - we should make top 4 using your logic?!

We have a new coach, a good one with a game plan and has surrounded himself with champions

We have a team that has trained well and has run and stamina

We have some exciting new talent , one getting a rising star nomination

We have won our first 4 games despite a massive injury list

But we still have couple on here who are willing to write us off this year and continue to spew negativity

. I feel sad for them

I for one appreciate what we have, with a smaller sample size and am enjoying the ride

You are drowning here B.M., your obsession with individuals as opposed to what a better coached / drilled side is becoming embarrassing.

We need a star or two, it may come from development or recruiting. Regardless, our current situation is with our injury ridden list on the back of a new coaching regime.

Mate

Give me a gun player anyday

Look what Martin did at Richmond
What Bont did at the Dogs, What Petracca did at Melbourne
Cameron at Geelong

Any of them don’t play - no flag/S

Agreed they have a support cast.

We could go 19-0, the way we're going.

And this time I have been parlaying each week's winnings.

(As if).

I haven't seen a team this round we can't beat ...free flowing footy is so 2022. Smart systems and innovative structures is where its at . The pies are there but we are going to be 1 step ahead and next year 2 .. we basically have RTB and 3 potential head coaches in the wings ..we are the innovative kings ...

Thought Harves could never be a head coach?

Always been an absolute nonsense?

Not many better footy brains! And leadership - he only has to be in your presence and you hang off every word

We combine our first half of seasons 2019 and 2022, with the post-bye Saints of 2021, and we play finals.

The talent is there, we just need to keep playing the same game plan and we will win more than we lose.

I do think that there are five St Kilda players who would usually be in our senior 22 team, who won't play seniors at all this season.
