We won but the girls must have the same goal kicking coach the men have. We kicked 6.10

I went along as a last minute thing with my daughter who was as excited as I've seen her before. It was a pretty good game really. Suns looked the better side early and a couple of lucky goals for the Saints kept the scores almost level at half time. We had a slight breeze in the third and took advantage to kick away to a 3 goal lead I think, keeping them scoreless. It was a bit scrappy in the last qtr but we came out on top pretty easily in the end.

Probably the standout for us was number 9 - Kate McCarthy who was super quick, unstopple and with a decent amount of aggression. Lots of 2nd and 3rd efforts. On the down side I think the main thing was a lot of dropped marks that really should have been taken. Early days, and I'm sure they'll handle the pressure better as time goes on. Skills were pretty good though apart from that.

A big thank you to Rhiannon Watt , Courtney Munn and Kate McCarthy for taking the time to have a long chat and photo with my daughter, who of course wants to be just like them.

Sorry I don't know more of the girls names but I'm sure that will change.

Thanks SaintJohno. Getting pretty excited for round 1 now. Got a bunch of girls going with me to watch the new chapter in the clubs history next weekend. I’m hoping Moorabbin will be packed.

No probs diddly, wish I could head back down for opening match at Moorabbin. I remember standing on a couple of tinnies behind the goals so I could see (when tinnies were real tin). Have fun. We'll definitely be watching.
