J.Steele - Elite player, best mid leader since Lenny
B.Couch - Contested ball winner and accumulater
Z Jones - Speed and clearance machine
L.Dunstan - gone to another level
S.Ross - Accumulater
J.Gresham - Injured
J.Billings - HF/Wing underrated
R.Byrnes - Developing kid - pace
J.Bytel - Developing kid - clearance

I think perhaps one classy, reasonably quick player short?

But overall, not shocking, or as bad as suggested IMO … especially when you factor in the ruck combo!

A fit and in form Jones makes a big difference
Tough and fast.

Dunstan’s emergence is the other thing that has jumped out... essentially he’s doing what we got Hannerbery to do. Is suddenly looking almost unstoppable

Dunstan kept Jarrod Lyons fairly quiet.
Got under the skin of the Lions.
Made them give a 50m penalty to give Winx a certain goal.

Having Ryder & Marshall in the same team just makes our structure so much better add Jones to the mix then we have a very competitive midfield . Steele is just a gun ,Dunstan has been amazing ,Crouch is a great pick up . If we get the right team on the park & play with that intensity we can mix it with the best but unfortunately that hasn't happened enough this year.

We rely a lot on Ryder and Marshall and when we play fast break sides like Dogs or Bombers IF we don’t get C first use we look slow

Great to see how good we CAN look… let’s hope the form holds up for the rest of the year!

Byrnes has been a revelation, have we been lucky enough to find one of those lower draft picks that turns into an elite midfielder, that never happens to us and always seems to be the luck of the big premiership clubs. It's the type of luck we need, that we never get.

He looks like he belongs....and how many games has he played.

Gresham is Ryder’s preferred target and Jones number 2. Significant gap after that if both are missing.

Byrnes is a find, and still has bit of puppy fat- another strong preseason and he will be seriously good.

Having both rucks playing TOGETHER is everything for us. It transfers all across the field. When one of them is missing, we’re a forward short and the other ruck can’t play a kick behind to chop out the defence.

Very deep midfield that really cracks in

But it can’t afford to be missing Jones or Gresham and DEFINITELY not both!!!
