I'm o/s and couldn't watch the game - I didn't even know this kid played for us when I saw his name! I can see he did all right - pretty amazing really for a debut on such a s*** day - but anyone got anything else you can tell me about his game? I don't even know what position he's supposed to play.

He’s basically a young Membrey type

We got him in the mid season draft and he is skiiiiiny and yet to have a preseason.

He came on and was decent… got separation on two occasions, once for a goal and his second shot was a stinker.
Technically this was his second game though he didn’t play at all when he was sub. I think he was in the first kick first goal club? But not sure

Presented and has a bit of attitude about him and looked confident

Took a decent mark in the last over the pack reading it better than everyone else and converted.

Liked him a lot. Would rather see him play then Kent

The channel 7 commentators were no help. They just kept referring to him as a second gamer.
I think he only had a handball before his goal.

He is our first mis season draft player to get a game since Anthony Harvey.

Yes correct. A handball. Don't think the mug callers called it but by that stage I was too pissed off to really notice.

On the basis of his performance I'm willing to call him the next Wayne Carey.

Looked a clever forward with good skills. He complemented Max well in that he wasn't leading straight up the middle or crashing into the same contests. Body is a few years off being truly AFL ready though

He's a few years away but we'd be seeking the next Luke Breust from him: that's his upside. Downside is Charlie Gardiner.

He's already 21 years old. At 193cm and 83kg he's a good size but needs about 5kg of muscle to give him an AFL body. He's not key position size. He's built like Scott Pendlebury. I think that weight gain could be achieved over the next 8 months now that he's in the AFL system. Seems pretty agile. Let's hope he can become a Jack Gunston type.

What is his tank like?
Speed?
Is he a midfielder like Pendles?

The closest player I can make a comparison to, based on one half of football is Jack Gunston. Same size and agility by the looks of it

I'm predicting this kid is gonna be special, he may end up a bit Hird like, in the way that he just knows where the ball is going and he will have a happy knack of winning contests he probably shouldn't. Looks to have lovely timing and touch..

It's interesting that he's considered not Key Position size because he is the same height as Sydney's CHB, Tom McCartin and 4 cms taller than Sydney's Full Back, Dane Rampe.

He's also the same height as James Frawley, who is a Key Position player.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Credit to our recruiting staff when it's due, Sharman and Highmore both clever selections with low draft picks.

Even when the ball is kicked to the most disadvantageous position for him - he still made it work.

We seem to have a pretty switched on spy in the SANFL. I hope we can develop an equally good eye for talent in the TAC.

Let’s hope he takes advantage of the opportunity and is diligent with his training and gym work and let’s hope he’s smart enough NOT to think McDonalds is ok as a hunger buster.
