Pudding McCussion
This guy has done a number on us, alright!
St.Kilda’s #1 draft pick and so-called replacement for Nick Riewoldt is now star defender for the Shytney Swines!
Thanks a lot, Tony Coleslaw and Meat Brains!

The chest beating aside this is a very poor thread.

Re: Pudding McCussion
Every player has injuries and concussions. The number 1 issue preventing McCartin from holding his spot in the St Kilda team in 2016 and 2017 was his fitness.
This was after being at the club for 3-4 years. Richo was soft. Couldn’t get the best out of Paddy because he wasn’t tough enough on Paddy
After St Kilda’s 2018 year, we were in no hurry to rush him back and neither was he. What’s really funny too is that Lethlean is a lawyer isn’t he? If the guy wanted to risk his health and keep playing, why didn’t we just draw up a new contract with clauses protecting the club.

Re: Pudding McCussion
So you would have been happy for him to stay on the list for 2 years when it was clear he was not going to play? When he was delisted/retired the expectation at the club, the league and with Paddy himself was that is was a long shot to play again. It is actually pretty incredible that he is playing again.Scollop wrote: ↑Sat 25 Jun 2022 11:21pm Every player has injuries and concussions. Whatever, dude! I’m just a frustrated St.Kilda supporter. We just seem to get rolled all the bloody time and Sydney are like that bloke who pretends to be your mate and then swoops in on your ex the week after the you breakup with her.
Like, Jesus H. Christ! When will the chips fall our way for a change!

I don't know mate. I'm stuffed if I know what should have been done but all I know is he has some football skills.amusingname wrote: ↑Sat 25 Jun 2022 11:35pmSo you would have been happy for him to stay on the list for 2 years when it was clear he was not going to play? We kept a guy on the list for longer than we had Paddy (Alabakis) and he had nfi.
If Paddy was going to be cheap to keep on the list compared to bringing in Free Agents at $500-$800K then it was worth the risk.
If we didn't think he was a chance to play again in 2019, what was the story in early 2021? We just had to look at how he was progressing and could have signed him in 2021.
I'm sure he'd have given the Saints first dibs when it was clear in late 2021 that he was free of his symptoms and...MOST IMPORTANTLY....we could test him and confirm that he was athletically fit

Re: Pudding McCussion
Let’s see what happens over a period of time with Paddy before judgment can be made.
There remains a significant risk around the lad.
I hope for his sake he has a successful career and health, but 11 games to date is not a significant enough body of work to assess.
