Deserves his own thread.

23 possessions
Most metres gained by any player on the ground - 520m odd.

Totally eclipsed Kelly.

(actually I just spotted a thread dedicated to him, below - so feel free to delete, kind moderators)

The kid is 18 and plays much harder. Cool under pressure and his kicking will improve. Loves a tackle and getting down and under. Building a good platform for future years.

Major keeper

Walked in and looked like he belonged right away.

A lot of hype around Owens early… I thought Windy had the form from the outset

Been saying that for a while and in the early part of the first quarter yesterday. He's a beauty and plays with a level of hardness we've been craving for.

When I first saw him......something about him reminded me of Rod Keogh

would love him to develop into Luke Parker type

I just hope he's not another Dunstan and reaches an early ceiling.

I'll be more than happy if he just turns out as good as Rod Keogh. I'd be bloody delighted if he turns out as good as a sound Rod Keogh!

Owens has the potential to be our Patrick Cripps. Has enormous strength for a kid his age. I'm not necessarily saying he'll be as good as Cripps, but he'll be that type of player and will be important to our midfield in the years to come because of it

Great to see him do well in an important role. If Kelly gets off the chain, we would've been in trouble.
Before WC game, he was outside best 22, but just gets so much better with every game

Mich has explosive burst speed from the bounce as he displayed on several occasions for Sandy and is a goal kicker. I agree with your assessment.

Rod Keogh was a GOP who played more reserves games in his career than senior

I reckon Windhager already has him covered

Hannebery in his post match interview said that Windy is the most professional first year player he's seen- St Kilda and Sydney.

This is high praise!

He will take Owens and NWM to a new level (if NWM stays)

I hope that he becomes Harvey/Hayes like in his application - he already seems to have a decent skill level

and hopefully they don't reach an early ceiling due to limited ability to become players capable of being a top 4 finals type player.

Windy reminds me of Selwood. The look in his eyes, the way he plays etc. I know Selwood was rising star in his first season but I think Windy has everything required to dominate the midfield as early as 2024

Windy, Mitch & NWM are easily the most promising intake of draftees we have seen since the early 2000’s.

Let’s prey they are developed and managed properly.

All three of Windy, Mitch and NWM will be good players but I fear that NWM will beat the Crows or Port.
