Congratulations to Hugo Ralph Smith

But

Did Hill run 3rd or was he overrun in the final steps????

Hill didn’t like the physical pressure applied from over a metre away …crumbled

Hugo has always been a very decent runner, not elite but very good.

Did years of Aths and ran in lots of state gold medal winning relay teams with Miles Bergman at Sandringham.

If Brad was in better physical condition he would have won IMO

Hill put in the short steps at the finish, Jack Peris would have been a better option

Peris should be rebuilding his engine, not risking hamstrings in a casual sprint race.

Hill appeared to be limping towards the finish. Unless he ran with his wallet.

The question has to be asked why Peris wasn't our rep.

They can extend it with his agreement for up to 3 years, 1 year at a time.

From memory the main reason most players take part in the sprint is to get a couple of extra tickets to the game for friends or family. I think it used to be the rule that all afl listed players get a ticket to the grand final but if you take part in something like the sprint, or the retiring players, you get a couple more. At least that is what I was told by a players father a few years back. So it’s not like some peak athletic competition

Probably because no one cares, it’s merely a bit of fun.

It has had no significance since 2009 😁
