Mids

Post: # 2005679Post B.M »

Steele
Serviceable
Got better as the game went on

Seb
Very good- played on Rozee and did ok - got a fair bit of it in tight

Crouch
was great early this year - last two weeks average- tonight very average- had his pants pulled down by JHF and when he got the footy he just scrubbed it!
Possibly worst game I’ve seen him play as a saint

Sincs Q4
For once it didn’t really work - throwing him in - but Clark did well in his role across HB in q4

Since worked well in middle - got some clear touches
They put him back …should’ve left it
I think he’s a point of difference our midfield needs
Ross Clarke Steele Crouch - all one paced

Sincs had 13 across HB in q1 and was the 2nd best player on the ground

He is important in the back 6 and the reason we are the best team in the AFL from scoring from d50

When he’s out of the backline we look slow coming from defence

It’s nice to have him in for a few minutes here and there - but he’s invaluable across hb

Sinclair is our best user
Has pace
Created into forward 50 where our efficiency is deplorable
Find another HBF - get your best round the contest
He and Owens need to come into that midfield
I’d almost rotate Sincs and Clarke HBF/mid till Coffield finds his feet …

Get Owens in there ASAP, which will be when King and “Kid Caminiti” are back.

Owens may put the wind up some of our more established midfielders, but I’m more mindful of what he will do to our opponents. He is ready and a real weapon

I am sick to death reading that Seb is one placed or slow. That is just f****** bulls*** and is sprouted parrot fashion by posters who have no f****** idea.

Trouble is that sort of rubbish , if sprouted enough times grows wings and gets accepted as a fact.

Recorded the third highest top end speed last season

Hill at 35.1 was obviously fastest
Surprisingly Kent was 2nd fastest at 34.5
And Seb 3rd at 33.9

He is an absolute power runner

As I’ve said before, Seb is a pretty consistent B grade player, so if he’s you’re 3-4 mid option you’re looking pretty good, 1-2 and you’re going to struggle.

We need to put our effort in getting another star mid to the team before superfluous things like more talls (B King)

Thanks mate. At least you know your football and footballers.

The amount of crap posted on here about Seb is unbelievable.

I think it is mainly from posters who wrote Seb off early days and are now f****** embarrassed.

Those posters opinions are just better ignored.

Thanks Dud someone who gets it without batshyte brain dead defending Saints players who are “perceived” to be criticised
I watched Horne Francis at speed tear our sane same paced midfield apart this week. How **** obvious do some NFI muppets need it???
Ross is 3rd rotation and I still contend will be pushed out before our next flag
Windhager Owens Pou and hopefully Bytel along with Sincs etc are our future midfield

JHF had no body on him in contests and we allowed him to hit with speed.

If any of those have the career of Seb they’ll be pretty happy.
At the moment they are nowhere near Seb

AA squad
Captain
B&F x 2
200 games

I’d take that!!!

Lack of respect for his output over 8 seasons is ridiculous

This year we were top after 6 rounds - Seb was one of the best players in that time - arguably the best mid

Seb was opposed to Rozee
Crouch had JHF in the first half - poor match up
Steele had JHF in the 2nd half - he had 1 clearance

True
And when he went at speed we had no one who could go with him
Go watch Hunter Clarke try to catch him
Obvious

As long as players are picked based on maximizing competitiveness for the upcoming game, regardless of respect and legacy, I'll take that.

We aren’t talking career
I could t give a **** what Seb Ross’s career looks like come our next GF appearance- if AT THAT TIME he isnt best 22 ….he don’t play
You can sit in your room with his career posters on your wall all you like
IMO if we contend seriously in next 2-4 years like I expect he won’t be in that midfield
Maybe he could hire you to polish his career trophies?
And stop with the “show some respect” BS
It’s a footy site to discuss our club which is bigger than ANY individual

This site doesn’t need a failed lawyer correcting anyone anything
Stick to footy or put me on foe like I’ve asked 2-3 times
You add NOTHING by way of good footy content and just stir the pot
Now do us all a favour and ignore away

Seb won’t be in our next flag, because we are miles off contending and he is 30 this year.

Not because he hasn’t got the ability to be part of a premiership team.

He just got drafted to the wrong club - as far as team success goes!

Tim Membrey…last night ????? Was shyte
Do you live in the past your whole life??????
Membrey won’t be there next GF bookmark it
I’m hoping by end season our new forward line with Caminiti King and Owens cameos (he’ll also play mid) are a lock
Life moves on and it means we’ve improved and these young guys have come on
You can have a bbq with Tim and Seb and talk about the dominating years of Ricoh/Ratts

Be careful of announcing kids as future StK premiership players

We did that in 2013 with Acres, Dunstan, McCartin, H Goddard, Eli. Templeton, Spencer White, Arryn Siposs and Tom Curren
