They've had a horrific 18 months with players being unavailable, which has been compounded by poor list managent in recent years. Nearly all their best players are aged 28 and over.

Yes, they are tanking and they are far better at it than Hawthorn whose approach to securing the prized number one pick was to get rid of anyone over 25 who was any good. The problem was they hadn't explained the plan properly to the players unlike the Eagles. I think the Hawthorn brains trust are probably trying to set up a few season ending injuries to get them back into contention. I just don't think they will be able to catch WC in that all important race to the bottom.
