I'm not sure how many years it has been since I took anything Kane Cornes said at all seriously, but it would be in the double figures. He has an antediluvian view of the game and is insanely biased.

On the other hand, i have some respect for Caro's analysis of the game, even though she clearly has it in for us.

No, I don't think so. To be fair at least David King was down at Moorabbin watching us train during summer and was speaking with Boris Enright. He took the time to come down and see what was happening at pre-season training, so he was aware of what the club were doing when we had to start preparing for a season with a raft of injuries. Like a lot of us, the sheer number of injuries would have put anybody off predicting big things for us this season.

The big story they don't have the guts to hunt down is Geelong. Premiers now stuffed, 11 years of finals ended. Scott not much good without Selwood or Blicsavs. Trouble on the Bellarine. Hawkins can't run. Rowan has no hammys. Tuohy slow as - can't rely on turning back to the umps and throwing. Smith gone...they are in strife. On this weeks Realfooty podcast she said that the end justified the means in regards to sacking Ratts for RTB and thinks we're in a good position for future success.
The fact that its about the 2nd time st.kilda has been mentioned on the podcast all season besides the point.

I stopped watching any of the "Footy" programmes on telly YEARS ago, I just watch the live game-time broadcasts. Same story with the radio; for a while I listened to SEN nearly all day, I've not listened to anything (other than match commentaries on ABC Grandstand) radio-wise for around five-six years. I don't read any football news in the papers. If you were to ask me why, I'd have to say that I just became bored with it, didn't need to hear all the cliches and claptrap. I simply enjoy going to the match with my pals, the media do nothing to improve on THAT!
