You can almost bank on playing West Coast in the first 5 rounds without Bakes!

I am not sure on this as the rules have changed a few times but if NAB Cup games count and if we play say 3 of them Bakes may only miss 2 regular season matches.

I think you'll find that Bakes can play in the NAB games but must miss 5 home and away games.

One thing is certain: We will play Port in Adelaide, not in Melbourne.

Coming up on 7 years since we played here.

Must be about time we shouldn't have to travel to Perth twice a year also!

Bad for WA fans (and yes i am one), good for the Saints

Considering our performance this year I believe we should have a pretty god draw, hopefully it can end pretty softly like this year because we usually are the slow starters aren't we...

It has been at least 3 years since we have had a home game to start the season. That would be nice (i'd like to see our 1st 3 games in Melb). I'd also like to have our last 3 games in Melb too !!

Would be nice to have a home game at the MCG again.

My wish is for 1 game only in Perth and Adelaide only 1 game in either Sydney or Brisbane, Port here, Freo here, less Friday night games and no Sunday twilight games (pain in the arse).

Round 1 Easter Thursday Night at TD v Brisbane might be on the cards however that would mean the season starts a week earlier than this year.

Remember the AFL are talking about two breaks during the season next year because they want to bring back the state of origin.

So if they do the two breaks it will not be a problem

We had a god-given draw this year and we fluffed it.

Not taking maximum points against WCE, WB, Geelong and the Kangaroos at home cost us so very dearly in the end.

So much for home fortress :?

yes makes sense now, thanks for chucking in the two breaks bit, forgot that

Would love to have a few home games at the start of the season. Win the easy ones early and when you peak later in the season the harder ones become a little easier with the confidence and wins gained early

Nooooooooooooooooo

We are the only Victorian club with 11 games at our actual home ground..why give that away?? Our reserved seat and Social Club facilities are compromised there, and for corporate arrangements a one-off homoe game there is a pain.

Invariably it would be against a Club like Essendon, Collingwood or Carlton..who if on a roll will outnumber us for crowd support at OUR home game!!

Experience at the venue for Finals.

Imagine if we had played an Elim there, guys like Gilbo had only played at the ground 3 times, and I reckon it makes a big difference.

For some players, maybe. But Gilbo is a dead set gun no matter where he plays. On the other hand, I remember both Clarke's looking completely lost on occasions at the MCG.

I hate the MCG. But as long as it's the preffered finals venue for the AFL, I would prefer to play as many games there as possible.

So by your reckoning WCE, Adelaide, Freo et al should ask for MCG home games too???

Back in the 90s when WCE were "robbed" of a home Prelim Final under the old "MCG one Prelim at the G" rule, the Eagles were up in arms.

But Malthouse, their coach at the time, said he was quite happy as it was the best possible preparation fro winning the GF the next week.

I agree with Riccardo, a few more games at the G would be a nice way to prepare ourselves for success in September.

Richmond twice, Carlton Twice, Essendon Twice, Melbourne twice, Port Adelaide at the dome, Collingwood twice, Eagles at Dome, Freo Away, Sydney Away, Brisbane away, Adelaide twice, Hawthorn twice, Kangaroos, Bulldogs twice.

I think I am delusional but I will forward it to Andrew.

Wake me up when September ends.
